i think the AP should be ashamed of themselves! it's sad and DISGUSTING that they would even do something like this! ACK! 
ITA!!! The girl is down in the slump and everyone is just kicking her down even more. It is a friggin shame.

This is SO strange that I'm reading this today. I was driving home yesterday and her song came on the radio, I started thinking that she might end up like Anna Nicole if doesn't get help. 
It's still sad that they would do this though.

This is definitely commong practice in media outlets - I've seen it first hand.
Kinda s*cks that the story was made public, especially for a young woman.

They do this for everyone. Every celeb or famous person (especially older ones) have thier obits written, posssibly years before they die.
however, what IS disgusting, is that this information was made public.

Totally agree. The AP does this for almost every celeb/political person/biz leader. It's a standard practice, so really I would assume they had already had one for her.
In fact, I believe I remember one time they mistakenly sent one out on someone that hadn't died "as of yet" -- but was nearing the end.

This is true...I interned at Bloomberg and the obits are written earlier than you might think. They make montages, find old footage of celebrities, etc.
The fact that someone made the fact that Britneys is already written public knowledge, is the disgusting thing here.
