AP has written brit's obituary ... just in case
The Associated Press began preparing Britney Spears’ obituary within the past month, Usmagazine.com has learned.
"We are not wishing it, but if Britney passed away, it’s easily one of the biggest stories in a long time," AP entertainment editor Jesse Washington tells Us.
"I think one would agree that Britney seems at risk right now," Washington adds. "Of course, we would never wish any type of misfortune on anybody and hope that we would never have to use it until 50 years from now…but if something were to happen, we would have to be prepared."
Washington also says the AP has a "pretty extensive obituary operation," and that staffers are "constantly adding people."
Following a bizarre night out Wednesday, Spears’ pal Sam Lutfi phoned into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, claiming, “everything’s fine.”

Honestly I think that is so sad. No matter what she is a human being and a mother...a bad mother but a mother nonetheless. Unfortunately if she doesn't straighten up her lifestyle that is the path she's heading down

They do this for everyone. Every celeb or famous person (especially older ones) have thier obits written, posssibly years before they die.
however, what IS disgusting, is that this information was made public.

i agree ... i think it's a very insensitive thing to do.
i guess from their point of view, they want to be the first to run the obit, so they prepare them in advance. maybe the other people on their list are just other very well-known celebs ... not people whose deaths they are predicting. if that makes sense? 
i definitely don't agree with them -- but maybe i'm superstitious.

I agree. While I do think it's horrible they do this, their business is their business. But why come out and make it public? Especially to say you've written the obit of a woman who's life is out of control right now? Are they just trying to push her off of the ledge she could very well be standing on?

All publications write advanced obits and the logic behind it makes sense. What I don't understand is why the fact they've started on hers needed to be released to the public?

Actually, the more I think about it, whoever reported this in the first place is the most disgusting. I have a feeling that AP wasn't sending out a press release about this, or even reported it themselves. . Someone probably knew this was their standard and practice to do so, and wrote an article about it. So IMO, whoever reported this is the worst offender.
