Mom's who work full time...

Who watches your kids when your at work? A family member or day care?

Also, what kind of work hours do you have?

DH and i are trying to put a game plan together for when we start TTC next year. thanks!

Mom watches my DD who also happens to run a day care in her home. Very convenient how that worked out.

I work Mon-fri 9am-5pm.

We have a nanny watch our son in our home M-F.

I work 9-5 in the city, so I am out of the house by 7:30 AM and home by 6:30 PM.

So far its worked out great, but I do miss my DS so much during the day.

I work 9 - 5 and DH works 4am - 1pm.

We have them in 1/2 day daycare and hen DH picks them up and he takes care of them until I get home. He is lucky in that they nap from 2 - 5.

My MIL watches them on Tuesdays, her day off, and in the summer my mom and dad who are retired watch them 2x a week and we only bring them to daycare 2x a week.

Daycare when they were younger.

Before & aftercare programs through the school district.

I work from 9am-5pm in the city. DH works 7am-3pm ish in the city.

Monday, Tuesday & Friday I have my landlady (we are in a two family house- she downstairs, me upstairs) watches Maddie from 8am until 5.30. My DH drops & picks up.

On Wednesday & Thursday my mom comes and does the same hours.

daycare- he went in at 18months before that I was a sahm but unfortunately thats all our savings would allow

My children are in day care - 3 days a week (Tues - Thurs). I work from home one day a week and my husband is home one day a week with them.

I work 7 - 3:30. The days the girls are in day care, they get dropped of at 6:45 or so and I put them up at 4ish.

We have a really wonderful in home day care person who has an assistant. She watches 5 kids total in her home. I work from 7:30-4pm every day and my DH works from home when he is not on the road(he is in sales). Its great when he is in town since his job is pretty flexible.

We have a full-time nanny who watches DD in our home. I WFH 3 days and commute into downtown 2 days

My m-i-l watches my kids 3x a week (And their cousin, who is a month older than billy! )

My grandmother wathces them once a week, and dh is off on a weekday, so he watches them once.

We will probably need to start looking into daycare soon for Genevieve, since my b-i-l and his wife want to have another baby, and 4 is just too much for my m-i-l to watch!

During the day my DH watches our daughter. He works nights. Starting next week his mom will watch her 3-4 days a week (to let him sleep/work on our house)

Daycare 5 days a week

7-7:30am to 5:30-6:30pm depending on days.

VERY long days for DS.

I work 9 - 5 and DH works midnight - 8 am. My MIL watches DS in my house until DH gets up from sleeping which is about 1:30 - 2 and then he brings MIL home.

With family (group family care) until 18 mos, then daycare. I will probably do it the same way for #2 (whenever that happens), maybe start daycare a little younger - around 12 mos.

DH and I both work 9 - 5 and our commutes are less than 45 mins.

Bella's been in daycare since 4 months old. Most days I drop her off between 9-10 am based on my workday (sometimes earlier if I am in the middle of a heavy project)
DH usually picked her up between 3-4 pm...with his new job he picks her up at 4:30-4:45pm. it's worked out pretty well so far. I think we would do that with #2, but lord the bill will be crizz-azy

Daycare full-time.

I drop her off between 8:30-9am and pick her up between 5:00-5:30pm.

Having daycare across the street from our apartment and a 15-minute commute is a tremendous help!

My MIL comes to my house to watch DD. On the days that DH is off he takes care of DD. I work full time Mon-Fri

My Mom has Charlie 1 and 1/2 days and one of the girls who works for me has him 1 1/2 days. Then DH has him on the weekends. I'm off during the week.

Jordana has babysitter from 8:30-6. She also watches my neice 15 hours a week while watching DD. I work in the city (where I also live) from around 8:30 to 5:15.

daycare since 4 months. She goes 3 days a week from 8 - 5:15. The other 2 days I work from home. I really need a sitter for those 2 days, but it's impossible to find one


Eta: I don't have a 9 - 5 job at all, but I worked out a schedlue of 8:30 - 4:30 in the office. I get DD we are home by 5:30.

I have to log back on at night after she's in bed to make up the rest of my hours. It stinks. My days don't end until 10 - 11pm most nights. Not sure what I'm going to do when #2 comes.

DH and I both work 9-5, although his hours sometimes vary so I am the one who mainly does drop off and pick up. My commute is only 15 minutes

Mondays my inlaws come to my house to watch both DDs. Tues the baby goes to a local sitter and my older DD goes to a local daycare/preschool. Thurs and Fri I drive them both my my moms house. Their day is typically from 8:30-5:20. It sounds complicated but once we are in the routine it works!
