From one of those "underground" Disney websites:
"I don't understand how you can post on a site that has nothing to do with Disney I mean what kind of loser's do this"
Did you look this up??
And LMAO about the related topics, I didn't even notice it before!!

Re: I don't understand...
My ILs go there every chance they get. It creeps me out a bit. I went once in HS with a school trip, once with ILs right before we got engaged and I plan to take Baby G when he is old enough, but we DEFINITELY will see and go to other places. Life is not all about Disney. I'd rather go to a a place where you are <gasp> left to your own devices/imagination.

Re: I don't understand...
If going to disney is what makes people happy then I see nothing wrong with it. I am not a disney fanatic but my husband is. We go once a year. We always have fun. There are plenty of things to do as an adult. The weather is warm. The restaurants at Epcot are great. The hotels are beautiful and we hang around at the pool. There are a few good bars and we love to shop downtown. My DH likes the atmosphere and is comfortable there and if he's happy it makes for a better vacation then me telling him to "grow up" and go some place else and him not enjoy it as much. We also go on alot of cruises and I did draw the line at the disney cruise until we had children. A girls gotta gamble! : )
We'll be bringing our daughter for the first time next year and we can't wait.

I took DH there way back in High School cause he was never there. We liked it but I guess we are not Disney people. We prefer white sand beaches with drinkies see other post of If not Disney post...

Re: I don't understand...
Ive been there once... Im in no rush to go back. Disney is to kids what Vegas is to adults. I LOVE Las Vegas, so I can understand the obsession. Ive been to Disney once. It was nice.

My husband and I have absolutely no desire to go to Disney. There are too many wonderful places in the world to see. Spending a few days with thousands of screaming kids is not tops on our list.
same here, im a fan of many disney movies and characters but its just not my idea of a relaxing vacation

I live about 30 min from Disney and haven't been there once since moving here. A co-worker of mine goes practically EVERY weekend! I don't get it!

Re: I don't understand...
So many people have a lot of stress in their everyday lives. So if they've been to Disney and know that it is always a good time for them, what's the harm? Sure, they could try other things but they like the tried and true place, I guess. That said, I don't know anyone who is overly obsessed and I may feel differently if I did.
As for introducing the kids to the commericalism of the characters, I want my kids to enjoy making a connection with whatver characters they love. I don't like that so many people are against character decorating themes. I know I paid more for character baby bedding but I work hard for my money and it makes me happy just to look at the stuff.

Re: I don't understand...
My family has gone basically every year since I was 3. When I was little, I loved it. In the last 5 years though it has gotten old quickly. Basically everyone has outrgrown Disney in my family and even if this my parents will probably still continue to go. Why you ask? Because my dad refuses to fly and it is one of the few doable vacations for people who want warm weather and do not want to sit at a beach all day.

Re: I don't understand...
We were in Orlando for our Honeymoon, in a timeshare thanks to my generous and awesome parents.
We went to Magic Kingdom, Downtown Disney, Pleasure Island, and Epcot...it was the time for food & wine festival in Epcot.
We loved every minute of our honeymoon--Disney was so magical, I had bride ears, and we were just like kids and carefree...we are not obsessed and would like to go on other vacations, but for us, that was the most affordable choice for us..can;t beat some of the cheap flights you can get to orlando
