Need your opinions
regarding a living situation.
My husband and I just found out that we're expecting later on this year. We currently live in a decent size one bedroom with a yard and we have a dog. We're currently debating whether we should move to a bigger two bedroom apartment (more $$) or whether we should stay where we are and buy a house in a couple of years...its a difficult decision for us bc I know once the baby arrives, lots of new stuff will arrive with it and we wont have much room for it...but at the same time, we have it so good at this apartment - our dog has a doggy door and constant access to the yard, we have a great relationship with our landlord and our neighbors and we do want to own and not rent.
I think if we stay where we are, we'd be able to save a lot more and get out of there quicker, as opposed to moving to a bigger space, pay more $$ and rent longer.
I would love to hear your opinions! Thank you!

Sounds like you solved your own dilemma. Were I faced with a similar situation I would stay where I was, save money and buy.

I would stay but start saving ASAP. Look into FHA loans or 100% financing oif you can afford the payment. Maybe look for a legal2 family to absorb some of the mortgage cost. You are not going to want to share your BD with a 2 year old. Maybe 1 but not 2!

My sister and brother in law live with my neice in a one bedroom. Its tight, and you're right, the baby does come with her/his own stuff. They are making it work right now, with the plans to save for a house.
We would do that too, but our rent is too high and I hate my landlord. We're moving in a few months.
Sounds to me like you have a nice set up there. You can do it for a year or so after the baby is born.

ETA: The baby is 14 months old; they have no plans to move for at least another 1.5 years. AT LEAST.
