PSA: pay attention to your money!
take the time to periodically review what is happening to your money!!
although this has a happy ending, i am a little embarrassed that i took my eyes off my money.
since i work for such a big company, i have gotten a little overwhelmed with all the services they provide.
a few months ago, i attempted to open an account through our credit union. the website told me there was a problem and i had to do it in person. so i let it be.
at about the same time, i noticed my paychecks dropped by a few $$. i even reviewed my e-paystub, but didn't look close enough.
today, my first pay increase goes into affect. so, yesterday, i took a look at my paystub to see the difference. well, i found where those few $$ are going.
after a couple fo phone calls, i confirmed that the credit union account was in fact opened successfully and i've been putting in the standard $25/paycheck in to my savings account.
i now have a savings account with $400 in it.
yay for savings, but shame on me for not paying attention.
so, don't be like me. go give your finances a once over and make sure you're money is doing what it's supposed to be doing

I balance my check book all the time. I know where all my money goes. Today my paycheck actually had more money it in and I was confused why.
Apparently got a raise and no one told me!!!

woo hoo! way to go.
and this is why i got so angry with myself. i usually know where every penny is/goes. somehow i got sidetracked with those $25. i have no excuse or reason why i didn't look further into it. i'm quite embarrassed that i did this.
the positive side to this?
with planning/squirreling money for SO's big party next year, i'll use this money to pay the photog.

PSA: pay attention to your money!
Thank goodness for DH who balances our accounts. With so many electronic transactions, I feel like it's easy for mistakes to be made and missed.
