Formula Fed Twins
What are your recommendations? We are using powder. I am currently filling bottles with water and adding the powder when we feed. Do you recommend making pitchers and using it from the fridge and heating? Any ideas to make it easier?

Re: Formula Fed Twins
During the day I would just make them as I went, if we went out and at night I would set up the bottles with water and measure out the formula into those little sectioned containers. I would put all of the night time bottles in a basket and keep them in our room and then the nursery once they moved there so I wouldn't have to stop in the kitchen.
We used Joovy Boob since I had received some samples and they worked for us. I also liked that I had two colors, blue for my son and purple for my daughter that way we always knew whose was whose , I also had two different formula dispensers since at some points they drank different amounts. The color coding and always having the same for each child helped us stay much more organized and even helped if grandma or whoever was helping since it became common knowledge who got what.

We did the same exact thing. The pitcher thing sucks because who wants to be heating bottles? Room temp water was perfect. I always boiled water. And then once it cooled, prepoured the bottles. We always had a tea kettle on the stove that was filled with water that had already boiled and cooled. Once it was used up, did it all over again.
We used the playtex drop ins. No muss, no fuss. Plus I felt like the bottles never got that formula smell which usually seeps in.

do this.
I made the misate with DD of heating bottles and it was such a pain when we were out and about and didn't have a warmer.
For DS I made as we went. What I did esp. At night was use the formula travel holders and filled them up with the correct portion; had bottles already filled with water in them, so all I had to do was pour in the powder already measured out mix and it was ready to go. Much easier than heating them up.

This too! Only gave room temp bottles with DS2. So much easier than having to warm then all the time! He doesnt know the difference. There is no nutritional value or difference between warmed or room temp bottles.

To add, we just use bottled water and keep on the counter.

i bought a formula dispenser and filled it with powder if we were going to out and filled bottles with water. I didn't mix until dd was ready for a bottle. I don't thik it's necessary to make it ahead of time, because you might end up making too much and will have to dump what is leftover. I may be wrong, but i think it's only good for 24 hours after it's mixed and refrigerated. It's only good for 1 hour if not refrigerated

I agree!!! Color coding is best. So what we did I was breast and formula feeding. They were only getting pumped milk as neither had a good latch. So what I did was in the morning I made all the bottles for the day since t was a combination feeding at first. I put I line down my fridge with a dry erase and their initials with the bottles. They had 2 different types of bottles since like 5 weeks and then different formula as well so it was crazy. Now we just fill all the bottles with room temperature water and line them on the counter. I have a basket on the counter for their stuff and then I dump powder as needed. I don't hear anymore. I was when I was using refrigerated BM.

Re: Formula Fed Twins
once I stopped pumping and my twins only drank formula, we would pre fill the bottles with water and have the powder pre measured in two or three little dispensers to make things easier. LOL. We kept the bottled water room temp so we didn't have to warm the bottles. I hating having to warm the bottles with two screaming babies that were on the same feeding schedule.
