EBF to formula-fed
How was the adjustment in your baby when switching to EBF to formula? Did they have any reactions to the formula? Can they even notice the difference (besides the bottle part, obviously!). Did you have to try a few brands out to get one that works?
I'm planning, unfortunately, to stop EBF my DD next week when she's 10 weeks, in preparation of me returning to work She takes 1-2 bottles a day of pumped milk so we're already working on that, but I wanted to give her time to get used to the formula before I go back to work. I plan on talking to her ped tomorrow about all the formula specifics.

Re: EBF to formula-fed
I would just start introducing it slowly... like 2 ounces here and there... and building it up...it may cause a little gas

Re: EBF to formula-fed
My milk supply has been low from the beginning, so he has been getting formula on a semi-regular basis. The only thing I noticed is that the consistency of his poop changed along with the colour, and he seems to need less formula less often than the breast milk.
Right now I'd say his ratio of BM to F is 4:1. I am slowly bringing him to 1:1, then he will be on formula exclusively soon, since my milk is drying up no matter what I do

Re: EBF to formula-fed
I had to go pretty suddenly from BF with supplements to all formula because of my surgery.
He's been very constipated with really hard poops. It's not pretty.
I would do what you can to transition slowly, but it's still going to be a slight shock to the system.

Re: EBF to formula-fed
I EBF my son for 3 months. At that point I started giving 1 or 2 formula bottles a day to get DS used to it before I went back to work at almost 4 months. I used Enfamil Lipil powder formula. He never seemed to notice a difference, or at least he never cared what he was drinking, as long as he was being fed! The ped actually told me that he wasn't going to like formula and that he'd probably spit it out becaue it tastes very different from breast milk, but he seemed to like it just the same.
Over the last month, I slowly started to give more and more formula and less and less breast milk. Now he's totally on formula.
He spits up alot and is sometimes gassy, but he's always spit up a lot and is no more gassy than when on BM.
His poop is different now. Different color, consistency and smell.
All in all the transition was completely seamless! Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Re: EBF to formula-fed
I was EBF DS and I swear he had overly watery poops...no "seedy" consistency at all.....we would give him gentlease here and there like if we were out in public, and he was miserable.
Ped gave us nutramigen to try and his poops got SO much better. I'm transitioning him to all formula as we speak....
