How long does the fever virus last?
For anyone's who child had the fever virus how long did it last?
DS had a low fever last Thursday, but then fine till Monday. He had a fever on and off since Monday. He was at the doctor's Tuesday and was tested postive for strep. I thought after the meds he should be fine. He is still getting fevers on and off so the doctor said it sounds like the fever virus with strep.
This morning he woke up again with a fever of 102.1.
He's taking his meds for strep, lots of elderberry, eating fine, acting fine between the fever and when he gets the fever he just gets tired.

My 4-year-old has it and has had fevers on and off since Friday. Brought her to the ped on Tuesday and she tested negative for strep and the flu. Still has a fever today so I'm taking her back to the dr to make sure ishe doesn't have an ear infection. I think it's just the way this virus is. Hang in there.

My dd had something like that a few months ago and she had a fever for 5 days.

DD had it for a good week. Started on a Sunday and wasnt really better til the following Sundya.

My 4 year old had both fever virus and strep not too long ago and it lasted 5 days.

Thanks! This stinks. It's been going since Monday and still has a fever, but it's going down each time so the Ped said that's good.

My daughter had it last week. She was sent home from daycare on Wednesday and high fever from then until Saturday. I kept alternating motrin/tylenol every 4 hours. It was due to a virus (but not the flu).
