high fever virus going around ? chicken pox?

ds had a low grade temp last week for about 4 days - i gave him motrin - worked great - he was happy eating playing - nothing out of the ordinary. took him to ped and was diagnosed as viral

then ds 1 gets it as soon as ds2 gets better - his lasts only 3 days.

ds2 developed pimple like blisters on his back and 1 on his face and started with a fever again yesterday - gave him motrin and took him back to ped - again was told its viral but the pimples looked viral - forgot the name she said

4 hrs later - with motrin and tylenol in his system ds had his eyes half open and looked like he was hallucinating - he was laughing crying whining laughing again - i touched him and he was literally burning.

i took his temp and thought my thermometer was broken so i took my other ds temp which was normal.

105.8 !!! i started putting cool washcloths under his arms and head and neck and rushed him to the er.

apparently a high fever virus is going around.

anyway the er dr said he has what looks like viral pimples and its not coxsacki, he asked if he was vaccinated against chicken pox and honestly i don't know! I'm following whatever vaccinations the dr recommends but I'm a month behind and spread them out a bit - i don't like giving him 3 vaccines at once so i have them do only 2 at a time

any ones child have chicken pox ? symptoms ? i know its not the end of the world if he gets it - i had it as a child

My daughter had the chicken pox last months, we don't vaccinate for varicella in Europe. She was fine, 100% normal but had some blisters on her lower back, then within 48 hours, she had a lot more, it wasn't until another day that she woke up COVERED with blisters, most of them on her face. She wasn't too uncomfortable, but she did have a fever at night. Not too high, maybe 102, she had two sleepless nights and was fine the rest of the time. She didn't do anything like you are describing fever wise, but she was fevery.

Do the spots seem to be getting worse over time? I am not sure what it could be. Are they jellylike? Do they wobble and are they filled with liquid???

they look almost like puss filled pimples. he hasn't had any more but those aren't going away either. ill definitely check him to make sure there aren't any more popping up.
he is on tylenol and motrin so his temp hasn't had a chance to spike up that high - except this morning when he woke up it was 104

DD just had Roseola - that's what that sounds like. High fever followed by rash.

Ds hit 104 today but seems fine when the Motrin kicks in. I also noted half closed eyes/ sleepy look in his face when the heat comes back. The Dr told me a virus with high fevers is going around. We're supposed to stay home and alternate Tylenol/Motrin.

roseala rash only comes out after the fever has broken. DS had that. He had a week of crazy high fever, runny poop, whiny and cranky, and not eating. The fever ended and 12 hours later he broke out in a rash. If dc still has a fever it can't be roseola.
