Forget it. You guys are bitter and tough to discuss issues with. Have a fab day! Even the positives keep you bitter. Go figure.
Any positive that this man does these people will find some way to twist it into something bad. But yet they keep saying they hope he foes good.....
I, for the record, have never once said I hope he does good. Just for clarification.
For someone who is apparently intelligent, that is the most dumb asss statement you could possibly say. As if you want a pilot to crash a plane you are on, along with everyone else. You are un American. You should move across the pond and live somewhere else. Even when I did not like Obama, I still supported him and hope for some positives. Because I am an American. I support my president.
First of all, I explained my statement above. Second of all I AM NOT AMERICAN. I'm Canadian, living here due to family circumstances. I pay taxes like everyone else, and trust me if I could pick up and move home today I would.
Please do then. And honestly, if you aren't a citizen, then what business do you have discussing politics within the states? (FYI- I used to tell my Cuban born mother the same when she wasn't a citizen. Told her she had no right to b*tch and to become a citizen- she later did.)
and you sound cruel, bigoted, and disgusting by suggesting that because I'm not at the end of my legal journey to citizenship I have no right to an opinion.
In response to that, your comments- wanting the President to fail- is the most cruel and ignorant thing anyone could say.
Since no one else will say I am honestly disgusted that you're speaking this way. You sound like a depraved animal for attacking her like that. Freely dismissing her fears and and telling her to go back to her country is abhorrent. I doubt very much that you have the humility to feel shame in your words or realize how ignorant they are but this really crosses a line.
Yes, there's that, too. It's like those people you hear say "go back to your country." It's this type of attitude that has been going on fueled by Cheeto. And now we have it on LIF. Fabulous.

This country is built on the backs of immigrants. It was FOUNDED by immigrants. I enjoy all the same rights, including freedom of expression, as anyone else as I hold a green card. I work in social services and pay taxes. I own a home. I am married to an American who owns a business. I have two kids who were born here. So if telling me to leave and that I have no right to an opinion makes someone a patriot I want no part of it. What happened to welcoming the weary tired and poor. Isn't that supposed to be what makes America great?
I can't like this enough, thank you!

You are missing the point though, the stock market doing well has little to do with him. He's been in office 3 days and inherited a pretty healthy economy right now from Obama. This isn't Trump's credit to take. Sorry.
Healthy economy?!?! I'm sorry but are you kidding me!

I just want to offer this counterpoint from an institution of conservative journalism, The Wall Street Journal: Dow 20000: Don't Be Euphoric. Be Very Cautious.

When I see something good, I'll say something good. So far, it's all shit.

I think at this time it's especially important to support journalism and get some subscriptions. Copy and paste would be against copyright laws, I think.

It basically details a long, dry history of market fluctuations and the salient points is that if history shows anything, it's that the market is naturally volatile and these sudden peaks don't necessarily have staying power.
I was able to pick it up with access from the WSJ Facebook page, if you want to try that. Here's an excerpt with the gist:
"Reaching a notional milestone like 20000 isn’t some magical sell signal or an indication that the Dow is doomed to drift or go down from here.
But the index’s own history should remind us all that the good times don’t roll forever. So Dow 20000 should make you cautious, not euphoric.
Owning stocks is a long-term undertaking that doesn’t just require patience. It also requires higher tolerance for pain and uncertainty than many investors may realize."

Maybe that's why she goes around this site like a rabid animal.
