I dont give a flying **** what the DOW is when people's rights are being stripped away systematically.
Also - were you cheering when the DOW went from 7300 to 19,250 under Obama?

But the jump in stocks is also a reflection of the solid economy Trump inherited from former President Obama. The U.S. has added jobs for a record 75 straight months and the unemployment rate is sitting near a 10-year low.
The Dow 20,000 milestone also shows how much has changed in the U.S. economy over the past eight years. The index crashed to a low of 6,440 in March 2009 as Wall Street feared a complete collapse of the American financial system.
The astounding 13,500-point rise since then has been fueled by a consistent, albeit imperfect, economic recovery combined with the U.S. central bank's massive stimulus program and near-0% interest rates.
While the economic rebound from the Great Recession has been slower than many hoped, the unemployment rate is now at the lowest level since 2007 and corporate profits have climbed to record highs.
"The economy has come a long way in eight years. Overall, it's a healthier economy and does justify a much higher stock market than eight years ago," said David Kelly, chief global strategist at JPMorgan Funds.

Oh no.............those pesky facts again getting in the way of Trump and his supporters taking credit for EVERYTHING. The economy has been on the upswing for 8 years. Get back to me on the economy after he's actually done something and served his 4 loooooong years. Then he can claim credit.

Yep! I'm gonna stay bitter until people I know aren't fearing for their health and safety and rights anymore.
Also, "how do you like them apples" isn't the start of a discussion. It's a "na na na boo boo" tactic.

You are missing the point though, the stock market doing well has little to do with him. He's been in office 3 days and inherited a pretty healthy economy right now from Obama. This isn't Trump's credit to take. Sorry.

It's positive and that's great! However, according to spicer yesterday this is only day 3 for them, since they had the weekend off I guess. You really think it's all from trump? In the two full days he's been signing orders that most people can't explain fully what they are going to mean probably did make the Dow reach record highs...right?

Wall Street has been on an upswing ever since Trump's win in November. Today's DOW increase is very likely tied directly to Trumps order to allow the pipeline projects to continue. This has nothing to do with Obama.....

Again, acknowledge the man stepped into a stock market and economy that is already doing well. It's been doing well for 8 years. Get back to me in a few months after Trump is "doing his thing"and then let's see where stocks are.

Other then being a milestone number; it doesn't mean anything. It's a price weighted index so higher priced stocks have a bigger impact.
It's just a number really and doesn't mean much in technical analysis.

I will preface this by saying I am not a Trump supporter but the Dow is made up of 30 companies...it's an industrial average and carries a lot of companies in Defense, Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Construction & mining so when you have executive orders that clearly are aggressively deregulating...these are the type of companies that respond. I better barometer for the overall markets is the Russell and the S&P

Don't you complain often how your mortgage is upside down? Not sure how you can say the economy is so good if you are underwater in your mortgage still after 8 years of Obama.
