Potty training - accidents all day

We started potty training DD last week (she's 2.5 yrs old). She got the concept in the first few days but would only pee in the potty. By mid-week she was doing both. Today, she pooped in the potty 2x but she pees in her pull up and says that she doesn't want to use the potty.

I've been bringing her to the potty every 15-20 minutes but she either doesn't pee OR freaks out and refuses to sit down. Two minutes later she pees in her pull-up.

What do I do here???????

My answer would be to get rid of the pull ups.
But I did the 3 day method.
I also didn't put them on the potty. They went on their own trigger. I only waited for them to be able to communicate.
It's worth the effort.

I thought about getting rid of the pull ups but she's been fine all week so I dont understand why she suddenly stopped.

Won't be able to do the 3 day method until after xmas...don't have consistent time off to do it.

Pull ups are diapers. Just with a new name for marketing. Get rid of them.

Like others said, lose the pull up. Don't take her so frequently. Making her so and go every 15 minutes is going to make her dislike the potty altogether. I watch dd and run her when she gets wiggly and obviously has to go or if we're going out/before nap/meals but not more than every hour typically.

Re: Potty training - accidents all day

ok, thanks everyone. I feel bad because during the week she's at my parents or in-laws and has school two mornings this week. What do I do then??

I guess I am just very confused how after a week she was doing so well and then all out refusal!

This is so different from my older DC....I should've known it was going to be very different, they are such different children!!

Have her go commando (wear a dress). Pull ups, diapers, even underwear give a sense of security and they will go in there. I followed the oh crap potty training book and it worked great!

Try taking her to the potty less frequently it sounds like she is using her pull up as a way to take back control over when she goes to the bathroom. Get some heavy training pants and use those during school hours then put her in panties at all other times. I used a reward to reinforce the behavior in the beginning with my dd.

I agree with everyone else, go to either underwear or nothing (commando). Set aside a few days and keep her home while you do it and I'm guessing it will probably stick, since she CAN do it she just doesn't WANT to do it.

(But if it's really an issue for school, you can try putting underwear on her underneath a pull-up so she still feels the wetness but they aren't constantly cleaning up accidents. It won't work as well, but it's an option my daycare recommended.)
