Lancaster and hershey

Is 3 nights in Hershey and then 3 nights at Eden too much or ok? 7 and 2 yr old

Haven't been to either in 3 years.

Doing Hershey lodge first and all of Hershey then want to stay at Eden for Lancaster Activities, Dutch wonderland and Eden.

you will probably get so many different answers to this but I think 3 days at Hershey is too much. I have a 6 and 4 year old and we usually are good with one full day at Hershey. You could probably stretch it to two?? I just personally wouldn't pay for a whole second day at those ages. The smaller rides don't get that long of lines so we were able to ride every ride at least 2x in the one day.
BUT the Hershey Lodge looks awesome and you could probably spend a whole day there!

Yeah see last time we went on the day we arrived we hung out at the lodge then went to chocolate world at night. The next day we spent at Hershey all day. Following day we spent at the lodge - did the pool etc and went to Hershey at night for games and some more rides and then we left the next day. We kinda stretched it since it made it feel less pressured etc

Re: Lancaster and hershey

I personally think it is too much. DH doesn't think that area is even worth taking 1 work day off for so we always go for 1-2 nights only. The weekend is plenty for us. We have only done Hershey or DW per weekend though. 1 weekend isn't enough to do both.

If you already took the time off, I personally would add Philadelphia to the trip. Lots to see/do there with kids.

3 nights is fine as you aren't spending 3 days in the parks. You get there one day, can't check in until 3. One whole day the next at the park.. I would probably to 2 nights and them head to Lancaster. 3 or 4 nights Lancaster is ok. So much to do. DW is one full day. Then there is the train and museum. We usually go 3 nights when we plan to do more then DW.

I think that's a lot of days, I would probably shorten the trip a bit. Im also surprised that no one else has mentioned it but I would also personally reverse the order of your trip. I haven't been there but I imagine Hershey is much nicer and more exciting than Dutch Wonderland. I'd rather go from an older park to a newer, larger one. I think the reverse will make DW seem pretty lame but that's just my thoughts.

I agree with this unless there is a compelling reason to go to Hershey first.

Also, I've done both, I don't see 6 days there unless you're spending a lot of time at the pool and just hanging out.

There aren't that many things in Hershey to go on with kids that age. At least, not ones that take a lot of time, I see 1 maybe 2 days if you stretch it there. Dutch wonderland is another 1 day affair. There are some amish tours and shops and the Strousberg railroad.I could see this being a 4-5 night trip. Also, depending on how much you are into the Hershey thing, Hershey is commutable from the Lancaster area for 1 day.
We didn't go there when we stayed in Eden, but did from when we stayed in intercourse.

If you do stay in Eden and want to venture off property for brunch and coffee, there are a number of good places in Lancaster proper. "On Orange" is a great little brunch place. there are a number of coffee places, I can't remember, check out yelp

We go every year to Hershey-we love it!
The first day we usually do to chocolate world and hang at resort.
We usually spend one full day at Hershey doing the dry rides and either a full day doing the water section or 1/2 day doing the water rides and then hang at the resort or dry rides again.
So we usually do 3 days/2 nights at Hershey.

DW is easily doable in 1/2 day-full day. (Depending on the crowd level)
There are plenty of things to do in the Lancaster area-train museum, strausburg RR, turkey hill experience etc to name a few. If you choose to go that long, you can definitely fill your days!

Maybe do one less night at the lodge and spend your third night at the Eden (I'd arrive at the Eden late after spending a whole day at Hershey-so you get three full days at Hershey) and then spend day 4 doing something in Lancaster, some pool time and preview night at DW. Then day 5 at DW , have a nice dinner. Go home day 6 (maybe after doing turkey hill or hands on house?

Re: Lancaster and hershey

Not too much!!! I spend 4nights/5 days at Hershey alone! I would do the same order, since Lancaster is on the way back from Hershey and is much more low key. We stay at the Lodge and go the park for every day, some days for a few hrs other days all day. It's a big park, shows to see, etc, so much to do. Then we hang out at the pool etc, like to go to restaurants, do hotel activities, etc. I would do 4 days at Hershey and 2 at Lancaster.

Did you know they are renovating the pool????? Will be done by the summer. Going to be a LOT to do at the lodge with the new pool area. It's indoors which is also great for bad weather.

See that's us! We love the lodge and like to stretch out the time there. Also like the order of Hershey first bc it's further plus we were using no Eden for the pool etc.
I heard that they were renovating the pool at the lodge! I'm so happy!!

That pool renovation will warrant you spending a good 2 days just at the pool area. Seriously. It's going to be so much more than before. There are simple pics up on the website if you haven't looked. When we went this summer they had posters up explaining some of the renovations. I already booked this summer back in Sept, b/c I was curious if the prices would just up sky high with the rush due to the renovation. Curious what the prices will be for the summer in a month or two.
