passports for kids
where did you get the picture taken for your kids passport? one is 6m and one is 2.5y
im reading the passport website and it says for the infants you can just lay them down on a sheet?
I know the pic has to fulfill all these requirements to be accepted so I want to go to a place that knows what they're doing.

I am not in NY but we made an appt with the local Post Office that had a passport office (not all of them here do) and took care of everything there. DS was under 2 at the time and both parents had to be present for this.

We got DS done at CVS when he was 6 months old. They do take the photo and print out the appropriate sized prints right there while you wait. It seemed too involved for me to try and do it myself and size the photo correctly (including correct zoom to fit in the passport template) etc when it was $12 at CVS.

I did mine at a Walgreens. We had to do it 3x because of the limits it has to fit into.

Post office, make sure it has a passport office
Both parents need to be present when you apply for the passport just as an FYI

AAA does them, Costco and the post office does them as well. Depending on what AAA membership you have they might be free. I did my children at the post office. I need to renew theirs and will probably do this again. I just made an appointment. They took them until they were correct.

i took DS to costco. the lady was a pro HAHA he wasn't quite 2... sitting in the seat of the cart. She just took the white background stand thing they had, and put it in the back of the cart behind him--- got the picture- he hardly knew what happened LOL
and yes, when you go to drop off the appliacation- both parents have to be present for it. and some of the post offices want you to make an appointment ahead of time... bc it takes time for them to go through the paperwork and make sure you have it all...

We had dd's pic done at 6 months at the post office. She just sat up on a table and all worked out fine.

DS1 got his passport at 8 months and we just did DS2's last month when he was 2.5 months.
Both times i laid them on a white/cream colored sheet and took a bunch of pics. Zoomed in and out to make sure they could choose the right one to fit the passport. It was no problem at all 
I just printed them at walgreens and brought them with me to TOBAY town hall to apply.

We had it done at cvs.. I sat on a stool with her on my lap -- they put the background in between us and they took hte picture.
