Class Mom Responsibilities
(For those of you who already saw/responded in the PArents of School Aged Children Board-- Sorry for the second post- I never figured out how to cross post!)
I am class mom for DD's preschool class this year. I was just wondering if I should be coordinating a class gift for her teacher or if all parents will do "their own thing' for the holiday gift?
Last year DD"s class mom arranged for an end of year gift for the teachers but everyone was on their own for Christmas etc.. Not sure what the norm is, or if there is one?
While Im at it-- What else do class moms typically do? (I didn't get a job description when I volunteered ahaha)

Class Mom Responsibilities
Depends on the school -- Is there an administrator you could ask?

Class Mom Responsibilities
The class mom in DDs classes always arranges for a Holiday and end of year gifts for the teacher.
She usually sends out an email to all the parents asking them to give xx amount or whatever they can. Some do some don't.
Some contribute and in addition bring their own little something, some just bring their own gifts, some don't give at all. Depends.
Not sure of the other responsibilities though...

Re: Class Mom Responsibilities
I am class mom for both of my dd classes this year. We will be collecting for each class. I think it's nice to give one big gift than a whole bunch of small gifts. Some people including myself will give a separate gift. M
On be preschool level I have to collect all the field trip money, help in the classroom when the teacher needs an extra set of hands.
Elementary school is a lot more involved. We are in charge of all the parties/events in the classroom. For example we have the thanksgiving feast coming up. We have to bring the entire feast in. Set everything up, serve the kids, clean up. We go on all the field trips, collect money for twxhers gifts. Think of projects for the kids to do for each party, purchase all the supplies.
