I would just give her a snack if it keeps her happy

I think giving food is a bad idea bc it shows that when you're bored, eat!! Too many adults do this and I think it is a bad habit to break.

I agree with this, though I have trouble putting it into practice very well. I often bring snacks with me, but try not to give them to him unless I'm absolutely desperate & nothing else works. My ds has a food fixation as it is, so I'm trying not to perpetuate it. If he's truly hungry, I will definitely give him food, no questions asked, but when he just wants to eat out of boredom, I try to distract him. It's tough.

Re: Errands Hell

I take my kids for errands during a time they usually eat a snack so that they are busy for a couple of minutes. I also bring something for ds to hold and play with so he doesn't pull things off the shelf lol. I don't really have any other advice, except that most moms should know what you're going through, so don't stress so much about what anyone else thinks.

Re: Errands Hell

I could run errands with DS1 and distract him with toys or something other than snacks if necessary. Snacks are a necessity with running errands with DS2. They keep him happy and occupied and make running errands a much more pleasant experience. You pick your battles and do what you need to do.
