Do you run your errands during your infants naptime or while theyre awake?
I feel like I'm disrupting DS's naps if I go out during that time, shopping or whatever. But then when he's awake sometimes he's antsy and doesnt wanna be in the carriage. WDYD?

I do my errands, outings, etc in between DD's naps. She is a kid that needs her nap(s) so I never take her out during that time.

She starts out awake and usually falls asleep when we are out.
With my older DD, we try to go out before or after nap time. But it depends on the day.

I've always planned my days around their naps, except for when they were really teeny tiny and slept anywhere.

I always run errands when he's awake. He rarely falls asleep anywhere but at home or in the car. As you know, Jack usually doesn't want to be in the stroller for too long. I pop him in the carrier to run in out of stores.

I work around his naps. Sometimes it's unavoidable, but when I have a choice, I try to go out after his naps.

Hmmmm maybe I've been doing this all wrong! I guess I should go out when he's awake! This will give me a chance to use my new floppy seat too!

I don't work around his naps. If he is sleeping, I'll wait until he wakes up to go out usually. But I won't stay home because it is naptime. If he is tired, he'll fall asleep in the car and then I just transfer him to the stroller, where he will usually continue to sleep with no problem.

Re: Do you run your errands during your infants naptime or while theyre awake?
I used to just go about my errands and DD would nap in the car. However lately I am noticiing that she won't nap or naps less and is a real CRANK! So I think I am going to have to start having her nap at home. At 27 months I definitely don't want her to out grow naps yet (especially with DD#2 coming in September)

When they were little I would because they slept alot and would sleep in their carseats. As they got older I let them have their nap at home and do errands around that or when my babysitter or DH are here

DD (12 months) will only nap in her crib at home, and she definitely needs her naps, so we always plan our day around them unless we have no other choice.

DS is the same. After I feed DS we go out. He ends up sleeping while I'm out.

I wait until DS is up from a nap and fed before going anywhere if I can help it.

Re: Do you run your errands during your infants naptime or while theyre awake?
Luckily my kids can sleep pretty much anywhere, so I don't plan around nap time. I do try to plan around meal time though, and usually go out after lunch.

Same here. I also keep my errands to under 2 hours and really shoot to keep them under 1 hour, I don't like having DS in the car or stroller all day. If I have a lot to do, I plan a stop at my parents house so DS can get out and play for a while.

everything in bt the naps. When we have somewhere to go for the day-- we travel during naptime and pray she sleeps in the car. Sleep is too precious and I don't have a good sleeper.

Same here. Sometimes he's awake but, most of the time, he's sleeping in his Snap N Go.

Usually before or after, but DS is flexible, I can push his naptime back if I need to. DD is only 3 months, she sleeps wherever.

When she was in the infant carrier I would go out whenever. Now I try to plan around naps (or if it's a long trip I'll drive during nap time).

usually awake and sometimes he will doze off while we are out. I will let him sleep a little bit (I bring a nice book with me for just in case) Many times I sit in my drive way (if he falls asleep on the way home) until he wakes up because I don't want to wake him.
