Hershey Park questions...

this is my 1st time going with my 2 kids ages 5 and 3.5. We're going end of Aug, during the week.

Our plan is to leave early and check in to the Hershey Lodge and hit the park. Have breakfast the following day and go to the park and then leave to go home.

Is 2 days/1 night at Hershey good?

I see there is a zoo right there...is it worth to see?

Is the drive roughly 4 hrs?

Any tips/feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Hershey Park questions...

We just took my 19 month old 2 weeks ago..It was fantastic. We did 2 nights but only one day at Hershey. The second day we did the Crayola Experience in Easton PA which is on the way home to NY. It is a BIG park...lots to do and see. I think 2 days is good but be prepared to be very tired at the end of the day. The zoo is cute and kid friendly. Chocolate World is great. The attractions there aside from the free tour are seperate prices from your park admission ticket and can add up quickly. Our drive was 3 and a half hours from Lindenhurst. We stopped along the way for breakfast on the way in. I would recommend staying the second night after the park. You will be very tired and so will the kids. its a long drive after a long day. When we went it was 92 degrees out and very humid! Showers and bed were amazing after leaving the park at 10pm.

I wouldn't waste time at the zoo. The park is HUGE so there is a lot of better stuff to do IMO. 4 hours depends on where you are coming from, and what time of day you are leaving. We've had it take under 4 with not a lick of traffic (North Shore Suffolk), and sometimes 8. Depends on traffic.

I agree about the zoo and the traffic.

We did the zoo last year. It wasn't that great. Maybe I'm spoiled because we have some great zoos in NY, but I wouldn't pay money again to go to Zoo America at Hershey.

Hershey is about a 4 hour drive for us too, but it's taken us 6 hours. And the traffic hit once we got to NY. I couldn't ask my husband to drive home for that long after a long day in the park.

My kids are almost 6 and 2.5. We were at Hershey a few weeks ago. We spend one day there. We did the rides in the morning, and the water park in the afternoon. We had a fantastic time. Two days for my kids would have been exhausting for them.

Not like Disney as far as parades. We saw a few Characters come out and do pictures. Like a hershey bar and kiss..they do little shows here and there through the street but its not something I would purposely seek out or wait for.

As far as food, liek most theme parks the food was VERY expesive so we had some junky stuff here and there. We gave DD a PBJ kids meal from the food court at chocolate world and then got dinner as soon as we left.
