why won't my son nap?
I am about to lose it. my almost 11 month old was never a great napper. but for the past few days he won't nap more than 30 minutes.
Yet when I get him from his crib he wants to sleep on me. Then the second he touches the crib he wakes up again. Same thing is happening at night.
Is this just a phase?
I don't think he is teething. two teeth broke thru about a week ago.
I am exhausted and pretty soon no one will have any clean clothes to wear because the laundry isn't getting done.

I haven't done CIO with him.
I'm hesitating because I don't want the crying to wake my 6 year old.
He wakes up, sits up and then stands up in the crib. When I lay him back down, he stands up again. And again.
I'm not sure what to do so I give up and take him out and rock him back to sleep.

I'm on the same boat!!!!!!
These past few days and nights I've let him cry it out. And I feel like the worst mom ever. Takes about 20 minutes and my 5 year old (for nighttime) doesn't even flinch. During the day our big guy is at school so it doesn't matter
I've told myself he doesn't want to nap because he wants to hang out with me. Cuz I'm so awesome. Lol

What about letting him play a little more or maybe in a pnp with toys. He may tire himself out and just pass out
Wish I had better advice. My daughter have up naps at 9 months

Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child is a great reference book on Sleep newborn through childhood. It helped me understand sleep and sleep skills in baby's/children. I'd highly recommend it.

I'm in the same boat with my 2 month old. He will only nap on me, in the car, or while strolling. He wakes up if I try to put him down. So much for sleep when they sleep.

why won't my son nap?
Is he getting sick? Sometimes that can impact sleep and they are more clingy. My kids' sleep always gets weird a few days before they get sick.

at 8 months we did CIO with my twins. At 11 months, I would also CIO your 6yr old is old enough to understand & go back to sleep. Its only temperary.
If you don't do now, I PROMISE you it will get worse when the little guy starts talking & yelling mommy

A little update...
So it ends up he is sick. So I will let the past few days slide.
But he was a terrible napper to begin with. So I don't think it was just him getting sick. It's been for months that his naps are short and sporadic. So once he is feeling better I will have to address the issue.
Also, I have no problem doing CIO. I did it when my daughter was around 10/12 months.

Sorry your LO is sick :( That's the WORST!
Is he still napping 2x a day? LO went through this around that age. We were getting 2 45 minute naps. Was never enough time to get anything done. I dropped the morning nap and now just naps in the afternoon. Now I get almost 3 hours naps.
