birthday traditions
Anyone have any cute ones? I kind of slacked on plans for tomorrow but I'd like to come up with some simple things to make the day exciting for my newly 3 year old

For my kids on their birthdays I always decorate the whole kitchen with streamers, balloons, bday tablecloth, and bday themed dishes and napkins for the day. I like to get everything set up at night so when they wake up they have a cute bday surprise. I make them their favorite dinner, bake them a cake, and then when DH comes home at night they get their gifts!

birthday traditions
Growing up we always had special candles that we would only light on our birthday. Once things settle down a little I'm going to ask my mom where she got them.

We go to the Zoo each year.
DS was born early September, so school is usually not in session yet. DH and I take the day off and let DS pick which zoo he wants to go to.
We also go to a Polish diner by my parents' house for dinner each year. DS always gets the same thing, and then we have cake at my parents.

I always do a balloon cascade in front of the bedroom door the night before. I use a pack of balloons and tie them onto long pieces of strings in various lengths of the door and hang them from the top. One pack of balloons covers an entire door.
I also do birthday toast with a candle on it in the morning. 3 slices of toast while we sing happy birthday.
