get the motivation to do it. For some reason I can't motivated and I even have an elipitcal machine in our office so I dont have an excuse. Originally it use to be that the baby would take up all my time but now he is good in the bouncy seat. Was it hard the first week?

Re: How did the mommies that bounced back into shape soon

I find it very hard to motivate myself and when I have time I have so many things I want to do that I start by saying I will just do 10 minutes and usually once I start I can get myself to do at least 15 minutes or 1 mile and then I usually feel good that I accomplished something. Just start slow!Chat Icon

I am nearly 10 months post partum and REALLY need to do something .... swore up and down that I was going to go back to weight watchers --- would walk/swim with the baby all summer long...and I relaly haven't done it.

It is so hard. I give so much credit to people who are able to do it!

Re: How did the mommies that bounced back into shape soon

We're constantly on the go. I walked a lot with Jared in the beginning. I also had a personal trainer for 2 months after my 6 week check up. I no longer have him now and I go to the gym on my own. I have to admit, I haven't gone to the gym in a month. But my Dh, who used to be a personal trainer too, helps me out with sit ups and squats at home. When I work out at home, I use two 8 lb weights for arms and I also use a body bar (a long black weighted bar) that is 15 lbs for squats.

I just try to do things at night or when Jared is sleeping.

I am totally with you!! I cannot get my (ever growing) azz to the gym. But I do walk everywhere, so that definitely helped.

It's really hard for me to exercise because I am always exhausted. Right now the only exercise I do is walk around my community. I usually walk about 1/2hr 2-3 times a week. For me, that's not enough.

Oh, and there is a gym here where I live and I don't even use itChat Icon

My motivation was that I had no $$ to buy new clothes! Money was tight while I was on leave. So I had no choice but to get my butt in shape so I could wear my pre-preggo clothes again!

ETA: I swear by Weight watchers for my weight loss.

I work out when Alex goes to sleep. She falls asleep at 7pm, I workout for about an hour, eat dinner, and then go to sleep. Admittedly, I haven't worked out in 2 months, but that's because we bought a new house and had 2 months to do major renovations, which, I'm finding, is more of a workout than anything I've ever done, considering I lost 10lbs in the last 2-3 weeks! This is exactly what my motivation is! 3 months PP I have about 10-14 lbs to lose to get to pre pg weight.

Re: How did the mommies that bounced back into shape soon

for me, BF'ing did the trick. also, just a lot of walking and lifting his car seat/stroller! i'm using muscles i never used before so it helps! plus, i'm too busy to eat much (which isn't good, i know) but i'm always drinking water and about one meal a day, it really took all the weight off.

i am 4 weeks PP and only gained 29 lbs to begin with.

Me too! Not only do I not want to spend the money, but I refuse to buy a bigger size. I have about 10 pounds to go too, 7 weeks pp.

I have an elliptical too, but I never use it. Now that DS goes to sleep earlier I could probably find time to do it at night, but I'm not very good about motivating myself to do it. Not that I have bounced back into shape yet, but I joined Stroller Strides (I think they have something similar on LI) and I go a few times a week. I've tried to make it part of our routine so that way I keep going. It's great because I get to be out and talk to other moms, DS comes along too, and it's actually a pretty good workout.

I also didn't feel like dropping cash on clothes that I'd only wear for a few months until I got back to my normal size.
I've worked out for years, so it wasn't hard for me to get back to the gym. Our gym has daycare too.
But, I'm almost 12 weeks PP and still can't get my old jeans up past my thighs, even though I'm only about 5 lbs from my pre-PG weight.....
So off to the mall I went Chat Icon

Re: How did the mommies that bounced back into shape soon

Its sooo hard...

I was down to only having 10lbs left to go- and now Im back to 20lbs from my weight post-partum...

I got fitted for a dress the other night, and wanted to die- when I heard what size I was gonna beChat Icon

I started WW again today-

I got in the best shape of my life- right before I had Ryan- I did WW and tae-bo....

I sturggle with it now...
Being always on the go- makes it so much harder... because 1. if you are at someone elses house- you eat what they got- or you eat nothing, or 2. If you are out and your hungry- there is much option to eat something healthy....

I hoping by fall to be back down to my pre-preganancy weight...

Ohhh I also wanna say- my body is soooo different- At the weight I am now- I was wearing a size 10 jean (in juniours even) now Im lucky if I can fit into a 12 or 14

Can I jump on board that boat too. I actually started South Beach diet today to get some pounds off so that maybe I can actually find some motivation again.

Re: How did the mommies that bounced back into shape soon

Yesterday I did the elipical for 10 mins Chat Icon and did some sit ups. I guess I have to start slow. I should also try ww. I did try it the all of 2004 and lost 10lbs with the point system so maybe I should do that again. Has anyone does LA Weightloss? My SIL's sister did it and lost a lot of weight after bother her kids and I was wondering if it is the same as WW. I also haven't bought cookies in a week which should help considering I have a sweet tooth. Hopefully DH and I can get back into the shape we were before we got married. I guess I should go back to cooking only eggs instead of full meals for dinner
