Toddler nap schedule became no schedule
I am so confused about my dd. She is 15 months and her schedule went crazy. I used to have her take a 9 am nap, 2:30 nap and go to sleep at 7:15. For the past month, she is all over the place. I started implementing one afternoon nap, but yesterday she literally fell asleep at 12 pm the instant we got into my car. That means she was way overtired. Anyway, this morning she started acting cranky at 9 am and fell asleep within a half an hour. I am shocked. Also, she cannot fall asleep before the sun sets, so she goes to bed now at 8:30. It seems like maybe I should keep the morning nap, but I feel like a lot of other kids are on one at her age.

Re: Toddler nap schedule became no schedule
She might be phasing down to one nap, but if she is happier with 2 let her have them. I would not concern myself what other kids are doing. Everyone dc is different and you have to do what works for you.

Re: Toddler nap schedule became no schedule
Going through absolute craziness with my 15m old too.. he's done with 2 naps (won't go down for the 2nd one) but one nap isn't enough. It's just an awful transition period we have to truck through . For now I'm pushing his one nap as late as I can (mostly to make sure he naps when his 3yr old sister naps ) because it seems to help a little bit in the evenings..

Re: Toddler nap schedule became no schedule
Sometimes my 20-month dd takes a nap around 9:30 and one at 2:30-ish. Other days, it's just one nap after lunch at noon. I guess it depends on how tired she is. She's in the transition of two naps to one.

Re: Toddler nap schedule became no schedule
Sounds like she's transitioning to 1 nap, but some days is tired and still needs 2. If it doesn't bother you, I'd just follow her schedule.
DS is 18 months and only takes 1 nap a day. It's usually in the afternoon but sometimes he's tried and naps at 9:30am! Even those days, though, he never takes a 2nd nap. Months ago, he probably would take a 2nd, short nap on those days.

Re: Toddler nap schedule became no schedule
When does she wake up?
My DD (also 15 months) wakes at 8:30, naps from 1-3 and goes to sleep at 8:30. She sort of phased herself onto this schedule at the beginning of the summer because I have an older DS and we were just naturally out of the house doing things when she took her normal morning nap at 10:30. The first couple of weeks she was getting tired around her normal morning nap time but I just tried hard to keep her awake and in no more than 1 week she was completely down to 1 nap. For me, that works because I didn't want to be tied down the house 2 times a day. My DS would have gone crazy! I feel like if she wasn't ready for it, she would have fought it. Since she didn't, she was ready for it. Like a PP said, don't worry about what other kids are doing but it does sound to me like she is starting to transition to 1 nap. It might just be taking her body a little while to do it. Is she in daycare? That's something else to think about. If she is, her room in September might only take 1 nap a day. Good luck!

Re: Toddler nap schedule became no schedule
My DD phased down to 1 nap at 13mos, mainly bc that's how daycare ran the next room she was going into.
