7 mth olds - what is their nap schedule?

Sarah is just now 7 mths and has been FIGHTING naps like crazy! She's always been a bit of a cap napper but I wonder if she should be staying up more now that she's a bit olderChat Icon We created a bad habit but having her sleep in the swing....I want to break her of this habit as well....I guess we're in for a few rough days!

Anyone else go through this? How do you get your baby to nap in the crib? Sounds like such a stupid question but I let both my girls nap in the swingChat Icon

ds is NOT a good night sleeper. he wakes often (although i mainly let him work itout himself and fall back to sleep until i nurse him at 5:30-6am.) that said he is a good napper if everything is super quiet. he'll normally do 2 2hr. naps a day.

i would rock your dd till she is almost sleeping and then just put her in her crib. maybe sing or pat her back till she falls asleep.

Re: 7 mth olds - what is their nap schedule?

7 months today Chat Icon and I TRY to get in 3 naps a day. DD will take 1.5 hr nap in the morning about 2 hours after wake. Then MAYBE another one before lunch...one after lunch and then a late afternoon one, between 3-4. Dinner @5:30/6...followed by bath, book, and boob.

She's a cat napper. She'll take 1/2 hour naps throughout the day, but the big one's in the morning. She'll surprise us sometimes and go longer. But not usually.

She's sleeping through the night 7:30-about 6:30/7

DD was a great sleeper - until she turned 8 months (a week ago). Now she refuses to take more than a 30 minute nap in the morning. She'll be exhausted and will pull herself up to standing in her crib - and she'll SCREAM Chat Icon

I don't have any advice about the swing/crib transition, but Abby takes 2 naps a day. The first one is around 11am until about 12:30. The second one is 3:30 to maybe 4:15-4:30.

I think Sarah has a tooth coming in....she's been fighting her naps sooo terribly - then she's overtired and you can't put her down to save your life! I need to also stop the swing naps but maybe I'll wait for this tooth to come in firstChat Icon

Ha! I was just going to post this same topic!

DS is 7 months and here is his schedule:

8am-around 9:30 nap
1:00-3:00 nap
5:00-5:45 nap
7:00 bedtime

And he sleeps the whole night now, without waking at all!Chat Icon Chat Icon

oh teri - my little guy fights naps too - and then they are short.

I usually rock or pat his bottom to get him to sleep.

My big guy was such a good napper - not this one though.

between 4 and 9 months DD was a cat napper. She'd sleep 10 hours at night (8 - 6) and nap about 1/2 hour at 10 another 1/2 hour at 2 and sometimes a 3rd 1/2 hour around 4-4:30. Once she started crawling and becoming more mobile her naps started going for about an 1 - 1 1/5 hours each. I'd say about 9 - 10 months.

ETA she fought all her naps between 4 - 9 months. It would take me over an hour to get her to sleep a mere 1/2 hourChat Icon

DD is 9 months and for the past couple months she basically takes about 40 minutes in the morning, 1 1/2 about noon and then sometimes another 1/2 hour in the late afternoon.
