DS had his MMR a month ago at 2 years 2 months. I spent 6 weeks prepping his immune system, pumping him with probiotics and cod liver oil.

Ds got his mmr at 3 years 6 months. He will be getting the second dose at 4 years 6 months.
Dd#2 is 18 months no mmr yet. I plan to wait until after 2. The outbreaks have not affected my decision.

The plan was to push off the MMR vaccine until my DS was 2-2.5. We were all on the same page (my husband and pediatrician).
About a month ago I received a call from my pediatrician letting me know about the outbreak and that I could vaccinate my DS (15 months) earlier if I wanted to. We had a wellness appointment coming up and I told her I would think about it.
Going into the appointment I was going to stick with the plan thinking we could treat measles if he did get them. My doc informed me that there is a 1 in 5 chance of having serious complications including deafness and brain damage. Being that the outbreaks are not contained to one area and that my husband works with the public, we opted to vaccinate.
Did I make the right decision? I don't know. Only time will tell. My DS did have a reaction. A week later he had a fever lasting 3 days and a rash that looked a lot like measles.

Fermented cod liver oil
My kids don't like it, but I take it. They have different fLavors.

DD just got it in January at her 3 year well visit. DS is only 6 months but I plan on waiting till he is 3 as well.

I put it off but DS had it before the outbreak began. If he had not had it already, I would definitely be getting it done.
