Blanket for an 18 month old
Can I use one? I feel bad that these past few nights have gotten a little chilly. What can I use besides a sleep sack?

Of course! That's a big kid. Ours has 3 in her crib... Can't sleep without her nest! Realistically, I'm sure chance of SIDS is much lower at that age.

Re: Blanket for an 18 month old
Should I get a special breathable blanket? I feel Ike she's still all over when she sleeps.

Re: Blanket for an 18 month old
We've been using knit blankets that DD got as gifts. Since they are knit, they have holes that make me feel better about leaving them in with her. She's used them since around 18 months and is now 2. When she moves to her big girl bed in a few months I'll give her a regular blanket/comforter.

Blanket for an 18 month old
We have been using blankets since around 8 months. It is a crocheted blanket with holes so I felt comfortable for her to have it. I definitely checked on her A LOT at first.

Interesting.. I have been using blankets for my DS since he was born. We use the Aden and Anais, which are breathable. He actually falls asleep by throwing a blanket over his face. I pull it off, but they are very safe.

Funny I was wondering this too for my 15 month old. I feel so bad for her I want to give her a blanket but was so scared. But the idea of using a knit blanket is not as scary. maybe ill do that.

DD is 2 and has had an Aden + Anais blanket in her crib since probably around 16 months or so. Maybe later. They're breathable, so I don't worry so much. Now that she's over two I think I need to get her a heavier blanket. She just kicks them off though. It never stays on her.

Same, DS needs his blanket to fall asleep! He usually kicks it off anyway.

I use a sleep sack, but that's because DD moves around so much in her sleep. If she was a quieter sleeper, I would move to a blanket at this point (she's 15 months). She has a blanket at MIL's.

Same. I'm thinking I'll get some of the footed ones for the winter but thankfully she rarely tried to stand until I go in to get her. I've considered a knit blanket with large holes but I can't see her keeping it on.

My DD is 2 and I still don't use loose blankets. We use sleep sacks.
