Do I need a Britax car seat?????

DD is 9.5 months & ready for the " big car seat" soon (she's still in her infant carrier now). I know Britax is a great brand but its also kind of $$$..... Did anyone not get a Britax? Are there ones that r cheaper that are comparable safety-wise? If the answer is no I will just get a Britax but if I'm going to splurge I want there to be a good reason. Any advice/recs?? TIA

I switched my DS into a convertible seat at 10mo. I have a Britax Boulevard in my car which is $$$ and I got it for my shower. We have a Graco MyRide in my DH's car and I feel like it is just as good! It is a much lower price point and very safe.

DD has a Britax Maraton and DS has the Graco MyRide.

Regardless of $$$$, all seats have to pass the same safety standards, so get the seat you are most comfortable with.

I had an Evenflo Triumph after the infant seat and loved it! I am having another and will probably buy the same seat. I loved that it didn't have the strap to tighten the straps, it had a knob that made it easy to tighten and loosen the straps.

The car seat inspectors at lij recommended the graco nautilus for my mom to get for my niece. Thy said it's easy to install.

I have the myride and britax marathon. I like the britax so much better. Much eaiser to install and the buckles and straps are a lot smoother and eaiser to pull than the myride. I would get another britax and sep d the money but they are equally safe. The Graco has clips to use to install while the britax has the clamps lift the inf at base to tether.

I have an evenflo symphony for ds and will be getting there another one for dd#2. It is an all in one seat from 5-100pounds, is super easy to install and super easy to adjust. IMO it's more about ease of use then brand name, since like a PP mentioned, all seats pass the same safety requirements to be sold.

We have a britax in our car and a graco myride in our ILs. To me they are equally as good (I may even prefer the myride) and the myride was half the price.

We have the First Years True Fit for DS in my car and for DH car (which he's not in as much) we have the Cosco Scenera. I think both are safe (though we will likely need to upgrade the Cosco one soon b/c of the height limit) and really just couldn't see spending that much more for another seat. Some seats also fit better in certain cars, so I'd keep that n mind too. But personally,no I don't think you have to get a Britax. There are plenty of others that are just as safe.

I have 3 evenflo's. IMO Britax aren't worth the money when there are plenty of others that are just as good.

We had a Britax Boulevard and prior to that a Graco something. The Britax is SO much nicer. No re-threading the straps, just turn a knob and they adjust. The padding was more plush and comfortable. The latch installation was also so much easier. I found the Graco latch strap to be very annoying to adjust. The Britax latches just click on. Super easy. I passed it down to a family member, and they couldn't believe how much more user friendly it was than the Graco.

i have the britax marathon 70 and dh has the graco myride- he loved the look and we both know baby is safe in it.. seems comfortable.. i got mine for my work babyshower, andwe bought his with coupons and toys r us bucks. we switched ds a few weeks back because it was too much to carry him in hte infant seat anymore- he was 20 lbs and 6 months old.

I have a Britax Boulevard in my car, Britax Roundabout in DH's car and my parents have the Graco Myride. The Britax's are def nicer like everyone else said. Much plusher padding, no re-threading the straps. I'd def get another Boulevard again.

If you're going to spend that kind of money though, I'd also look into the Radian as well as the new Clek Foonf (next baby will most DEF be getting the Foonf, I'm in LOVE)!!

I have a Britax Marathon, and got it super cheap at Target when they their sale, I want to say it was about $100..cheaper than the My Ride, we were looking at!

The Britax has a rear facing tether, which fastens to the frame of the car. A feature I love, and would look for if purchasing a seat.

I have britax roundabouts and graco myrides. I think they are fairly comparable price wise. I like the britax much better! I have such a hard time with the straps and buckles on the myrides and much prefer the britax.

we have Britax Boulevards. Like a few other people said... i don't think its a matter of them being a ton safer than other seats, because all seats have to pass the same safety tests and stuff.
I think the thing with BRitax is just how "easy" they are to use. its easy to get the cover off to wash without rethreading the straps, the LATCH attachment makes it super easy to install in the car, its very easy to adjust the straps and headrest, the straps don't get twisted up, things like that.
My best friend babysat every weekend in HS, and was a nanny all through college, and now has 2 kids of her own. Shes used every carseat out there... and she said BRitax just has a bunch of things that just make it nicer to use than other seats that shes used....

I have a britax boulevard and and evenflo symphony. I love my evenflo much more. I just got a second one for my youngest dd. They are soooooo easy to install both rf and ff. I love the straps much more. Love the price tag too!
