Our ped gave us a prescription at 6 months.

Our ped said to use Tri-Vi-Sol right away. She is breastfed. It's over the counter.

Dd was bf so right away and once she hit six months gave me a prescription for vitamins with floride.

Right away. We tried giving in the mouth but they weren't having it. We began in bottles at 3 mo. They are totally fine with it.

Thank you! Does it make a difference if they're bf or formula fed to determine when you start?

My baby is formula fed only. Peds wanted tri vi sol started right away. They bothered dd's tummy. Her GI doctor told us if she is formula fed, vitamins were not needed at this point. However, eventually she will need some sort of vitamin with fluoride in it, as LI water is not fluoridated.

OH GREAT, DD is 8 months and is not on vitamins..guess i'll be putting a call in to my doctor today...i switched doctors, and it was never mentioned to me.

Our ped has us start Tri Vi Sol at 2 months and switch to prescription fluoride at 6 months.

I think if they're bf they need vitamin d from the start. Then a multivitamin starting at 6 months. According to our ped, we needed one with iron for DD who is bf and who have gotten one without if she was ff.
