Question for those with 2 babies close in age

I heard from someone that whatever the sex of your first baby was, if you have them less than 2 years apart, there is a higher chance your second will be the same sex.

Any truth to this? To early for us to tell yet what the sex of #2 is. Just wanted to know if there's any validity...

My boys are 20 months apart, so I guess it's true for me. But honestly I doubt them being less than 2yrs apart has anything to do with it.

my sister told me this too

i dont know why - i thought it would always be 50/50 but being the mathematical expert she is , she tried to explain it to me

My boys are two years and 3 days apart. I'm due in July and my DS#2 and the new baby will be 17 months apart so I'll have to let you know my statistic then. Or at 20 weeks when we find out what we are having. I'll be curious to see now.

I don't know, my brother and I are 21 months apart. What is the rationale for it?

Someone said that the hormones from the first baby will still be in the uterus for a bit. So lets say you had a girl, girl (X) sperm will have a more hospitable environment than a boy sperm and vice versa.

Not sure I totally agree with the logic, and I'm not one to find out the sex before the baby is born... but I wanted to see what others thought.
