Another kids and newborns question

Under what age do you consider kids "too germy" to have around a newborn? Luckily the only other child in our close family is 12 years old but I'm wondering if I should even worry about him? Just curious as to far as what age you'd start allowing younger close family visitors who obviously will want to hold the baby.

I can't wait until we hit the 8 week mark so at least a fever won't mean automatic spinal tap!

Another kids and newborns question

I don't consider any age too germy. If the are sick that's one thing but just because a kid is a certain age or goes to daycare doesn't make them germy.

Same here. My 2 year old cousin "held" DS when he was 6 weeks old. For the most part my younger cousins (ages 2-8) just look but don't touch. They know they can touch his hands/feet if they aren't sick and wash their hands AND have adult supervision.

Not too germy at a specific age ... More about if the person/child is sick- then it's hands off!

I dont think there's really an age but my doctor said no kids under 6. I guess it had to do with the kids maturity and awareness about cleanliness and germs.
