Question about NYC cabs and kids
Does anyone know: How does it work as far as car seats when you need to take a baby/toddler in a cab or car service? Thanks!

my sister and bil dont drive and they use a car seat every time they go in a cab for their dd

the Graco Snugride infant car seat can be used in a cab without the base. There are special things to feed the seatbelt into. It's so easy.
I would NEVER take an infant in a taxi cab without a restraint.

Thats what we did several times. Its unbelievable that its not illegal to put a baby in a NYC cab without a carseat!

I never undertsnad this... and you don't need either a seat belt or a car seat on buses either... why is that?

You can also use the Baby Bjorn, which is very common in the city.

We live in Manhattan and always put DS in his carseat (the Graco Snugride, as suggested above) when we go in a cab with him. Check out this site for more info:
