probably my most embaressing post yet (hemorrhoids)

I am 95% sure that I have them. I thought it was just constipation until I was reading up on them tonight and figured out its a little more than that. It is so painful. anyone else have/had them? did you do anything to make them a little better? I am going to call my dr tomorrow but how do they know for sure if you have them and can they do anything to help you?
this is my 3rd pregnancy and I never had them before so i'm completely clueless and in pain.

I have them. Call the doctor, they should be able to prescribe you with the right creme that'll relieve some of the pain.

I use an ice pack on my butt too. It's weird but honestly it feels a lot better when I use it.

Totally feel you on the pain - that and my kegals are out of wack. I feel I can't leave the house without some sort of bathroom related problem :(

I have them too. But they dont hurt.
Sometimes they itch or bleed
I dont even want to write here what I do for them

I do get them now too. I started eating more fiber and 1 Activia per day. It seems to be helping. I sooo know you're pain!

When I had them with preg #1, Tucks Pads were a life saver. Get them at any drugstore. You use them to wipe after going to the bathroom & you can even flush them! You can use the Tucks Pads along with Prep H. First wipe with pad, then apply cream. But let me tell you, while you are pushing during labor, it gets bad, it's like your hemorrhoids grow hemorroids during those few hours of pushing.

I got them with DS. There's not much you can do other than try to keep yourself regular so there's no straining when you go. Eat lots of fiber and drink lots of water.

I had thrombosed hemorrhoids (all three pads) with DS #1 in the last few weeks of pregnancy because of his size and location. I actually had to have surgery on them 5 days before I delivered him and had a c-section because pushing - for me - was NOT an option just five days later.

I was in excruciating pain. If yours are anything like that you need to see your physician - all the lidocaine in the world will NOT help thrombosed hemorrhoids.

If they are painful but you can sit and walk without doubling over (seriously ), try all of the following methods:

Sitz baths every 1-2 hours
Tucks medicated pads
Ask for an Rx from your OB for lidocaine
Drink massive amounts of water
With OB's permission, take stool softeners
ETA: Do NOT push or strain when going - this will inflame them

I am assuming yours are still internal? My dr just gave me a prescription for anusol. With dd1 I got them after I gave birth. This time I got them about 2 weeks ago.

Buy yourself the preparation H wipes that have the witch hazel in them (I have the CVS brand). Use them to wipe instead of toilet paper when you are hurting/bleeding. And definitely buy the preparation H cream too. Put the cream on after using the wipes, after showering, etc. My mom was telling me about the Tucks pads. I didn't purchase these but apparently they are like the wipes but can be left on to soothe the area. Not sure what caused your problem but if its constipation try taking a stool softener. Between the stool softeners, wipes, and cream I have been able to hang in there...
