Silly question
Since this is my first time this month ttc im completely clueless to everything. In talking with DH he said that he thought I was supposed to make an appt with my gyn and tell we were are starting to ttc that way she can give me some information and tell me what I can do on my part. So my question is is my DH correct? I just assumed we would try and that's all. Can you all girls shed some light for me? Thanks!!!

Re: Silly question
If you want too and feel more comfortable talking to your gyno first then go for it. I personally dont think its necessary unless you have known fertility/menstrual issues KWIM. Before TTC I did have an appt. with my gyno for pap smear and I did mention to her I plan to TTC all she said was to take prenatal vitamins and have fun.

Re: Silly question
I talked to my dr. about it before we started. I didn't get much in the way of advice, just to continue taking my multivitamin. They also had me do some preconception blood work but I'm not convinced anyone really looked at the results! I forgot to ask at my last appointment.
I definitely think it's not a bad idea but I'm sure it's not 100% necessary.

Re: Silly question
Yeah I think it was necessary but since im thinking about changing doctors to find one affiliated with the hospital I would like to give birth at I don't see any harm. On a side note I didn't know I should even start taking prenatal vitamins since I take multivitamins. Thanks for your input ladies I would be lost without your help!!!

Re: Silly question
I mentioned it to my dr before we started trying. She basically just wrote me a script for bloodwork.

Re: Silly question
i went for my yearly Pap, and she told me to start taking pre-natals (the folic acid is higher than in regular multivitamins) stop smoking, don't drink in excess (we're actually good friends) and since I was on this journey 3 years ago, do what we did last time. And most of all have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She did do a blood work up, checked my thyroid, CBC, CMP etc. And said as soon as I get a BFP to come in (I have a history of babies not growing past 7 weeks)
Good Luck
