Renting a breastpump
I just found our nsurance does not rent out pumps. My hospital doesn't either.. so where else can I rent one from, before I purchase one. It will be out of pocket.. but I'd rather do that than spend 300 bucks and not work out.

Re: Renting a breastpump
I think any medical supply store will rent them out. I rented mine from Bennett in Huntington village. I think we paid $125 for a month?

Re: Renting a breastpump
depending on how many months you rent it for, it might work out cheaper to buy one.
But you can rent a hospital grade one, which buying one would be $$$$$$$ bucks.
I personally would prefer a brand new one, since most people bf for more then 3 months, and at $100 a month you will have purchased the rental, and won't even be able to keep it. if you exceed 3 months, its not worth renting it.
Can you register for one? even if you don't get it, you could use your completion coupon for it, plus any gift cards you get, or any returns you make could go towards it.

I rented the Medela symphony for $75 a month from a place called Continued Care in Farmigdale. If you go to the Medela website, they have the names and numbers of places that you can check out.

I bought my Freestyle for $215, got a really good deal. With renting, you'll pay that in a little over 2 months and have nothing to show for it. If you buy it and it doesn't work out, you can sell it on here or craigslist. As long as you buy new parts (which are around $20) there is nothing shared between past and present user.

You don't use prior tubing -- the tubing is bought separately and is 100% brand new. The only part that is used is the pump itself.

I agree. And at least you will have it if you need it again.
