Are you Supersticious or Paranoid?

Good morning loveys,

Are you superstitious or paranoid about anything related to TTC or Pregnancy? What are you superstitious about? What has led you to feel this way?

To me I am a person that is paranoid by nature so in this process there are plenty of things that I am supersticious about.

TTC- no one knows (hence the fake name), I feel that by telling people I am kind of jinxing myself (besides adding extra pressure and un-needed questions)

Pregnancy- One I get my BFP I will not tell anyone (besides immediate family) until the 12 week mark. I feel that too much can happen that I would not want to risk it.

Things for LO- I don't think I will purchase anything until around 7 months when the baby can make it safely. I wont purchase any baby related item until my BFP bc again I think that will just jinx me.

Ok after reading that, I truly hope I am not the only one so paranoid about things

I am not really superstitious. But I am very aware of everything that can go wrong while TTC and in the beginning of a pregnancy.

Quite a few of my friends struggled for months/years trying to get pregnant. They suffered through multiple miscariages in the process. So we just felt very strongly about not telling anyone about our plans. Not because we thought it would affect the outcome, but we just couldn't deal with the extra people looking at us or treating us differently if things don't go well.

Now that I got a BFP I cannot deal with telling anyone about it. I am hoping to feel comfortable after our first dr appt, but even then I don't know if I will be able to share the news. If it ends again like it did our first month trying I can't bear to have to tell people the bad news again.

I am insanely superstitious but when it comes to TTC and pregnancy I don't have any... yet...

As for us TTC no one knows. We want to enjoy this time and not have to worry about anyone constantly asking if we are pregnant yet.

When it comes to actually being pregnant, we won't be telling anyone until we are at the 12 week mark.

I don't know if it's superstition or paranoia. I'm just worried about having TTC problems or something wrong with the baby when we do conceive.

Not really.

But were not telling anyone about TTC bc who wants monthly checkins from from ppl? That's just way too much of my private life than ppl need to know.

I don't want to tell anyone abt a BFP until 12wks. Not bc I think ill jynx anything, but I know and understand the stats of mc and don't want to have ppl knowing abt a mc, if it were to happen. I don't even want to tell my immediate family until a viable IUP is confirmed.

I am very paranoid..if that is what you call worrying all the time.

I m/c 10 yrs ago and it is always a fear that it will happen again. Part of me thinks.."ok so you on the right days so logically you will get pregnant". However after reading what everyone has to go thru to get pregnant I wonder if it will ever happen for me. My sisters did'nt have problems getting pregnant and I hope I didnt wait too long

Yes I am definitely paranoid. I know way too much. And after my early m/c it takes you to a new level of worrying.

just worried i might mc again..but i dont think i would have been like that if we had not haad such a rough road ttc

Noid yes and getting more so everyday. Paranoid that I won't be able to get pg bc I'm 32, paranoid that if I get a bcp that it won't last, paranoid that they'll be something wromg with the baby,

It's funny because in general I'm not supersticious at ALL but I am when it comes to this stuff for some reason. My mom is too, I blame her
