contractions--and a lil update on my crazy situation

hey gals

i know that we are supposed to contract every so often as we reach the end...and i know all about braxton hicks and how they are supposed to last about 30 seconds, tummy hardens and so on and so forth.

my question is...if you are experiencing contractions as i am (i'm 31 weeks now) do they hurt? i can tolerate pain so well and some of them are just so OUCH!

they are def spontaneous and there is no pattern to them and everyone keeps telling me that i'll KNOW when i'm in labor but i just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this.

lil update:
for those of you that know my story i'm glad to say that i'm back home now after a month plus some days in the hospital they discharged me last week. baby's fluid is back to normal and i am so grateful i am close to 32 weeks now. with everything that has gone on...its almost a miracle i've made it this far. i still have to go see doctors 4 times a week even though i am on "strict" bedrest but it def is better to be home.

Glad to hear you are home!!! Congrats on making it this far!!

I had some really painful contractions at about 33 weeks, but I haven't had painful ones since then. I've had some random ones here and there, but they are mainly just the tightening up of my stomach...some of them I didn't even notice, except that my hand was on my stomach at that time. Actually, I'm having those as I type...lol.

my stomach def hardens but i feel tightness and pain very low. even tho they are monitoring me very closely...i still worry about the lil guy and if he can handle the contractions.

First of all, welcome home!! Take it easy and continue to rest up!!

I can't help in the BH department. Never noticed a single one with my DS or this time, so I have no BTDT advice.

so glad u are home and def happy that u have made it this far!! YAY!!

As far as the BH... I get them every so often and they have not hurt me really. maybe one or two but not very painful just uncomfy.
Make sure u drink A LOT of fluids. I realized that I get them only when I have not drank enough fluids for the day.
