cramping 3rd tri
Anyone have menstrual like cramping in the 3rd tri (30 weeks) that has been on and off for the past week or so. Some people say it's braxton hicks some say stretching. Everything you read also says it's a sign of pre term labor! I'm nervous. Should I call me dr on Mon?

Re: cramping 3rd tri
I don't think it's necessary to call your doctor unless you want to for peace of mind (then by all means DO). How severe are the cramps? Are they painful or just uncomfortable?
During my 3rd tri I got very dull menstrual like cramping. Not painful at all, just a little uncomfortable at times. Not sure exactly what it is - but I heard the same as you. Either stretching or a form of those early contractions (not meaning you're going into labor YET, just your body's way of getting you ready for it in the future). When I brought it up to my Dr she told me that the only time I should be concerned is if it's painful enough to double me over and/or is accompanied by bleeding. Otherwise it's completely normal

Re: cramping 3rd tri
It's like you said not painful just more annoying and uncomfortable. They are pretty dull on and off. No back pain or bleeding either. I guess I have 10 more weeks of this to look foward to!

Re: cramping 3rd tri
yeah, then it's probably just something that'll be on & off for the rest of your pregnancy. Bring it up to your OB at your next appt though if you want to make sure. Can't hurt! I found drinking water has helped ease them when they were particularly annoying.

Re: cramping 3rd tri
Thanks so much. I wonder if it could also have something to do with the fact that I have been constipated for the past couple of days? It's just putting a damper on everything, my shower is tomorrow and I don't want to be grouchy
But...Good luck to you tomorrow with your induction!! Hope all goes well
