Ehhh...what do you think....
When someone passes off a "fake" item as real...and its not even a good fake.
I NEVER call them on it but I wonder why they lie and try to pass it off...especially when its a really bad fake...and especially when you don't even ask them about, they do it to show off, so to speak.

I think it's kind of sad. I don't know why they'd try to pass it off as real and then try to brag about it.
I usually just roll my eyes and not say anything but one time DH and I were having drinks with his friend and his friends GF. She complemented my new Kate Spade bag but then was like "your bag is nice but I finally got what I always wanted... a real LV"
It was like she started the convo about my bag just to talk about her's and it was just so obvious that it was fake. I had too many drinks and called her out on it  She was embarrassed and never hung out with us again lol.

I see nothing wrong with a fake bag or sunglasses, I have them. But if I wear them I quickly say oh it's fake. But I'm the type of person who buys a designer at TJ Maxx or a consignment shop and tells everyone where I got it, I am more proud of a bargain than spending money.

Yeah this is me to a T! I love my bargain shopping and all my friends beg me to take them shopping...I'm the girl who walks into AE and gets an entire outfit for $20 (I really did once, all from the sale rack, jeans/tee/hoodie).

I could never call someone out on it b/c I know they would be totally embarrassed but my dh did to a friend of mine once. They tried to pass of a totally fake LV bag as a real one and was actually saying her's looked better than mine...now my dh who spent $$ on mine was pizzed and totally called her out on it.
everyone was in shock and she just walked away..I felt bad but she was bragging a little too much and someone needed to say something.

i don't care, because I don't get anyone who gets all revved up about bags just for the name/status symbol of it...if you truly like the design, that's cool, though...but all bags that are non-designer labels are generally a knock-off of a designer, anyway.
i never get the whole "oh wow, this LV is sooo beautiful" thing either.. it's a bunch of Ls and Vs. In the same color that all their other patterns are in. What's the big deal? 
i also  at the select few people that need the newest Coach, for example, and feel so uppity about it...meanwhile, the women with the Chanels are laughing at them.
It's all a giant "look at me" race for far too many women.
Not all women, but enough.

I don't know exactly what you mean by showing if off - but it really doesn't bother me. I mean - how do you know if they are showing it off? and - not everyone could afford a LV - Gucci - and other designer handbags - maybe they like the style/fabric and want to own one (even if its a fake).

Honestly, with some stuff I really can't tell the difference. I would never know a pair of fake uggs from the real thing.
I just can't stand the coach bags where it's obviously the "C" looks like a "G" or something like that - it's so bad!!

IMO, to each their own.
If you are going to carry a fake, own up to it. Don't try to pass it off as the real thing.
