OMG - Cancellation of Homeowner's Insurance???
I just got an email from my insurance agent that our insurance is cancelling us for the following reasons
Roof shingles are worn/lifting in rear
Siding is broken in rear???
We have paid the premium in full\
I don't understand this

They do that kind of stuff sometimes. We got cancelled b/c the sidewalk was lifted by trees.
Any chance this is Allstate cancelling you?

No - it's interboro
I really have no idea what to do. When we had our home inspection we were told there was a 4-5 year life expectancy of the roof on the front slope but that the rear slope would need to be redone sooner (1-2 years)
We do not have $$$ set aside yet for a new roof

We just closed 6/29 and about a week after we closed someone came to take pictures...

My friend had an insurance co do this to her, she had to have the requested items fixed within like 30 days or something like that. It was because they inspected her house and found "issues", she had to fix them because most companies go out and inspect.

we had the same issues!!! They came took pictures left and then the letter came in the mail that we had moss growing on the roof and had to be replaced or they were dropping us!! We did have the roof replaced so if the idiot who came to take pictures just asked we could of told him they were coming that weekend!! WE called our agent and we had to send pictures of the new roof and the bill that we had it done and then everything got taken care of!!
I did say to DH what would of happened if we didn't have the money this isn't right that they do this!!!
So sorry this happened to ya!!

they have to refund your money for the time left on the policy.
I would start shopping around for new insurance. that is INSANE!!!!
I have a great agent if you need one. I did everything over the phone (but I know him personally), and they litterally did a google image of my home, that was it!! FM me if you need his number.

Is there a chance they'd let you continue if you fixed the problems. You might end up with a similar situation after switching policies too. We were sent a letter asking us to fix a few things after closing as well. That was three years ago and as far as I know they haven't been back since.

Interboro WILL let you continue the policy if you fix the issues and submit pictures to them prior to the cancel (and confirm they received the pics) Did you go through a broker to get them ? If so you can submit the pics to your broker and tell them to forward them to whoever is their direct underwriter at Interboro.
If you have any questions FM me - I work in a brokers office and we deal with Interboro - (just an FYI on where I am getting my information from)

This happened to us too when we first bought our house and we had 1 month to fix the roof, but we had the money set aside already because we new it needed it from the inspection. GL!

Thanks, yeah this is what they said
We have 30 days to fix the problem.
I just think it's a bunch of nonsense. The roof really is fine. Yeah the shingle are a little discolored and we dont have any siding thats broken on the back of our house...
