Girls TTC more than 4 months...HELP!!
Ok, so this is month 4 and im pretty sure im out. AF is due around 7/17 but i started spotting yesterday and it continued today. At first i thought implanatation bleeding but it has continued so im sure its my usual "spot for 5 days, then period for 5." Its like having a 10 day period. So my question is this....at what point should i be concerned about fertility issues? is the spotting for 5 days normal b4 AF? Im scheduled to see gyno next month for regular visit. i guess ill talk to her then. Also, how do you girls stay positive month after month? I'm not feeling defeated quite yet but im feeling close. I never thought this would be such a "task." I tried for 10 years sooooooo hard NOT to be pregnant, i thought it would be a cinch to get pregnant. The only thing that is keeping me from going over the edge right now is that DH and I are going to Mexico early Aug for DH's 30th and i'll be happy to be able to enjoy myself even if i only have a couple drinks a day...lol. If i conceive this upcoming cycle i could get my BFP while in Mexico...that would be exciting!!!

Have you always spotted for 5 days leading up to AF? I'd ask my doctor about that if I were you. I've been TTC since last Fall, although the first few months were more or less just not being careful. I'm not gonna lie - its not easy dealing with the disappointment month after month. The one thing I do is to add a little something each time to my TTC regimen. For instance, I've never wanted to commit to temping, but after 5 months using the CBEFM and no luck, I decided to try temping just so I can be sure that I am Oing. This month, DH and I started some testing so I am waiting on the results of that.
I pretty much cry my heart out when TBAF shows and then the next day I just say to myself "ok, what's the next step?". I've found that for me its a little easier when I feel like I am somewhat in control. That and knowing that one day it WILL happen.
Don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions when u see your Dr. Hold nothing back and if you don't feel comfortable with the answers, go get a second opinion.

I would definately look into the spotting - although an Ob might just say its normal - i would defiantely still look into it. I believe spotting before AF could signify a progesterone problem.

Wow, we're TTC twins! We've been trying since the fall, but more like not being careful too. We didn't really start trying till December. Wouldn't it be crazy if we got pregnant at the same time?!?! ;)

Re: Girls TTC more than 4 months...HELP!!
I would give it 6 months and then ask your dr, depending on how old you are. last year my OBGYN said once we started trying, to come see her after 6 months. she said normally a year but since i'm in my 30s then 6 months.
I am only on month 2, but like everyone else am afraid I may have issues. I keep positive when i think that I know so many people who have had success with IVF and while it's not an ideal situation, it's still a great option to have.
good luck.

Try Vitex NOW! I ovulated late in my cycles and also spotting for a fw days before AF. After a year of trying I saw a RE - I was also 26 at the time. I had a hsg and was talking a few months off before starting fertility drugs. I decided to try Vitex after reading about it online and got pregnant that month!!!! I wish I wouldn't have waited. It will raise your progesterone and is available in GNC or similiar stores. Read more about it here.

I am 28 and I was having irregular periods and have been trying for 4 months and my dr saw me. I had a sono and it was confirmed that my ovaries and uterus were just fine and that I am just irregular. I didnt do blood and I didnt push for it since the sono tech said I recently ovulated so I figured if this cycle is a bust, I will push for a blood test to see why I am irregular.
Your dr should see you for your spotting issue and will do some tests to see whats causing them. I was so scared that I was going to have reproductive problems (mom had uterine cancer in her mid 30's) Seeing that the sono was good really put my mind at ease.

I have had abdominal pain within the past year so my dr did an internal sono and thankfully the technician said all is well with my ovaries and uterus as well. I decided, with some advice from girls here, to make an appt with Dr. Braverman. I called and got an appt this Thursday. I was so excited, i didnt i would be able to get one for a while. Im hoping he can point me in the right direction.

Re: Girls TTC more than 4 months...HELP!!
i am in the exact same boat.
every cycle, i spot 5 days before af too..and im on month 5 of ttc.
i always think - maybe this spotting is implantion bleeding? then i get my hopes up and then af shows up and i get devastated
i actually called my doc TODAY - and after telling her my story, she prescribed me with prometrium-a progesterone supplement.
ill let you know how it goes
good luck!!! worth calling your doc..at least you can get a game plan going...

Re: Girls TTC more than 4 months...HELP!!
I was on BCP for almost 10 years. I went off the pill and I spotted brown blood a few days before my period. I never spotted before in my life. Then the month I actually got my BFP. I didn't spot. I took an HPT and it was a BFP.
It took us 7 months and I thought maybe it was a low progesterone problem. I thought every month It was implantation bleeding. But maybe it took my body 6 months to regulate and produce the hormones on my own.

Re: Girls TTC more than 4 months...HELP!!
My gyno told me that if it took a year to come back (I'm 27)...I've been trying since Sept and finally got a BFP this month...the big change we had this month is that we got a dog in the beginning of June and I think we were more relaxed!!!

thanks for sharing. im also thinking that BCP might have had the same impact.
