for those girls ttc for many months...

I am right there with you. I am in my tww after my sixth month ttc. I am trying to be positive what really helps me is to know that I am not the only one. In talking to different people-half got pg right away and half it took at least six months to two and a half years and there was nothing wrong with them or their dh. I know that we will all get pg when the time is right. But I dont know about you I do think it is weird that people like Nicole Richie and Britney Spearsget pg right away. Not exactly great mom material in my opinion. But I guess maybe they werent trying and EVERYONE says it happens when you least expect it. Soo...I am trying my darndest to not expect it. Sorry so long Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon for all of us. I know we will all be amazing moms... I'm with you too. You're right, it feels better to know I am not the only one who has been trying for so many months. I'm 8 dpo today. I don't feel any different, so I don't think this is going to be my month either. It's getting really depressing. I was always afraid of fertility issues, but I never really thought it would take so long. Chat Icon

And I hate hearing about the Nicole Ritchie's of the world too.

Re: for those girls ttc for many months...

Ive been doing this for over one year now and had some pretty rotten, invasive, heartbreaking and even humiliating things occur in my process to become a mother. I can never and will never give up. I have no choice. If I do not keep going, I won't be a parent and that is not an option. I dont feel sorry for myself and I do not begrudge anyone the joy of parenthood - even if it is Nicole Richie. EVERY one deserves a chance at that kind of happiness whether expected or not.

Re: for those girls ttc for many months...

I went of BCP a year ago and planned on "trying" in spring of 2007. However my body had other plans. I ovulated for the first time in 8 months this past month. So in the world of TTC - since I have been off BC and "fooling around" - its been a year we have been trying.
I do get really down at times, and cry "why me." And at times I get upset when I hear about people who get pg without trying, or even their first month or two of trying. Its not that I begrudge them their happiness - its jealousy on my part that I have to go through doctor appointments and medication and who knows what else to do what other people do so easily.

But for the most part, I take things one day at a time. I just started seeing an RE who is pretty confident that with treatment, I should be pg within a few months.

So here's some Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon for all of us!

I feel the same way, I cried over my waffles this morning. I never thought it would be so difficult to get pregnant. I've always been a planner and if I could plan the rest of my life, I would. I know that i have to relax and leave it in the guy upstair's hands. Like some have said, you can't help but hurt when everyone around you "wasn't trying". In time, that is all I can say.....

ITA and Chatty Cathy(I like your name!) I have to differ with yoru opinion that people that have tried for 2 years with no pregnancy have "nothing wrong" with them or their DH. Chances are there was something wrong and they got lucky. I went to a specialist that feels-if you are ovulating with no sperm issues and know when you ovulate you should be PG within 6 months. I would NOT wait longer than 6 months personally

I agree as well. If it took over 2 and half years for your friends to concieve, either they never found out what issues they had, or they didn't tell you they had IF issues.
