Gender Swaying

Anyone doing this?

I read some interesting things you can do to try to sway for a girl but I'm afraid that it might take the fun out of trying...and we'd be happy with either sex but we would really like to have a little girl...it's still something we're just thinking about as we haven't started trying just yet...

Just curious if anyone has done anything to sway the odds in either favor...

We already have a Chat Icon and are TTC for #2. But, we still don't have a strong preference. We'd love a boy so we have one of each, but would also love a girl b/c I'd love my DD to have that sister bond.

If you go to the BabyMed site's fertility calendar, you can enter your LMP and length of your cycles then choose Chat Icon or Chat Icon and it will tell you which days and which position - not sure if its credible! Good Luck!

Re: Gender Swaying

We attemped to do this at first.. but after a couple of months of me not getting a BFP I through that idea right out of the window!!! And now I could absolutely care less which sex I get just as long as it's a healthy baby.. 9 months of TTC is starting to really take it's toll on me and I just want a BFP with a happy & healthy 9 months with a baby attached at the endChat Icon

Re: Gender Swaying

OK... I'm confused.... there's different positions that could lead to a boy or girl outcome?

Something in me just isn't buying this... could it be the little voice in my head yelling BOGUS?? haha!

Does anyone have a link to this? I'm curious how this could actually be true.

Though I am curious... I think just TTC in and of itself if enough. After having a mc.... I'd really be blessed to just have a baby... girl or boy.

I read a little about it. On FF there is a board about it. Some people say that there are different things that can be done in terms of diet and other things to sway the likelihood of having a boy or a girl one way or the other. I don't think that I believe that these things work. Plus, I don't care either way. Whatever God wants to bless us with is fine with me.

Re: Gender Swaying

My father's VERY Italian Uncle told me that if I ate a lot of broccoli, I'd have boys. And that's maybe the extent of what I'd do. While I obviously just want a healthy baby when we do get pregnant, both DH and I have a strong preference for boys, but we're certainly not going to go out of our way to try anything strange for one. I like broccoli anyways...so not a big stretch to eat some more.

i read that if you time it right you can up the odds of conceiving a girl if you try before you ovulate - male sperm swim faster but die quicker, so you are giving the girl sperm a better chance at getting to the egg - they swim slower but live longer...it's not guaranteed but it slightly boosts the odds of having a girl...

i also read that there are certain things you can eat to change the acid/base balance of your woohaa Chat Icon i think a more acidic body is more likely to produce girls - again it has something to do with the sperm - but don't quote me on this one, but it does have something to do with diet and the balance down there...

we are def open to it. we'd both like a girl - if it means trying a few days sooner and eating some different things i don't see the harm....in no way would i be disappointed with a boy - i'm actually torn between what sex i would like b/c i'd be happy with either - but i know my DH would love a girl and my heart melts when i picture him and a little girl togetherChat Icon

we haven't started trying yet...i was always one who just wanted to try and not check ovulation or be bothered with anything like that, i always pictured us having sex the way we regularly do now (spontaneous) just without protection hoping i'd get pregnant quickly - but this gender swaying has peeked our curiosity...just not sure if i want to go through the trouble of charting my cycles - that seems to take the fun away from it Chat Icon so i don't know...

i guess i'll have to read up on it more to get more info...

It's actually been shown in research that women who eat a less healthy breakfast or no breakfast have a higher chance of having a Chat Icon. I don't know what the percentage difference is though, so I wouldn't start eating less healthy breakfasts just to aim for a daughter though Chat Icon.

Re: Gender Swaying

My friend has twin girls from a previous marriage and a little girl from his current marriage. He REALLY wants a boy this time and they are going to try for a boy. Either way, they will be happy but they want to give it a shot. I don't blame them.

I never EVER eat breakfast and I have two boys. Chat Icon The male sperm determines the sex of the baby. The mom has very little to do with it. Chat Icon Ovulation timing is the major impact that the mom has.

I honestly wish you the best of luck when you do TTC Chat Icon - but you've been on here long enough to know how it can go pretty quick for some ladies, and be agonizingly long for others.

Since i'm going on 16 months of ttc'ing right now, things like trying to influence the gender of your baby sound completely ridiculous to me. Most of the ttc trick and remedies you hear of turn into utter nonsense when your body starts to wreak havoc on you emotionally and physically and you can't get pregnant no matter what.

I really don't mean to be so critical of what you posted, by all means have fun with it and do whatever you guys want to keep it fun Chat Icon Chat Icon

For me personally, I just can't help but think that at this point, i'll take whatever i can get, and i'm not going to concern myself with trying to influence the gender, when I can't even get a baby to begin with

Re: Gender Swaying

If you look at the link provided it seems insane. If you want a boy only BD on the day you O and if you want a girl, don't BD anywhere near O day. Seems like if you followed either of these methods, there would be no BFP.

Sorry link wasn't there, but a PP mentioned Baby Med. When I went to this site, I entered my cycle info and then said I want a girl to see what it said, and then did it again for I want a boy.
