I can't take it anymore
I didn't O last month, haven't Oed yet this month, my chart looks like sh!t, I'm spotting again midcycle (three out of the last four cycles). I am frustrated and annoyed and angry. I'm not pregnant yet - that's fine, honestly. I just want to have a NORMAL cycle!!!
I want to go into my gyn's office and scream at her. There is something wrong. I know that there is. She won't talk to me about it until we've been trying for 6 cycles with charting (!) so I can prove that there is a reason to think that something is wrong. For me that's like 9 months!
I am just so ****** right now. My DH tries to help by telling me everything is okay. He doesn't get it. Everything is not okay when I have brown spotting for days at CD20. It's just not.
And the thing that is the most frustrating for me is that I don't know enough to know what it is could or should be done at this point. I wish I knew and could go in there and say, do this test or put me on this medicine. I feel helpless.

Re: I can't take it anymore
You need to go to another dr.
That is ridiculous that you HAVE to be trying for 6 months and charting to prove to her.
There might be a very simple fix for this situation and you need to be your own advocate.
My dr told me if I am not pregnant in 3 months to come back and see him to try something new.
I am sorry you are going through this but I feel like it is unnecessary for you to deal with it any longer.
Please consider seeing a new dr. Where do you live? Maybe I can give you the name of my dr, he is amazing and so hands on.

I think the best thing for you right now is to get a new dr. asap. It could be something so simple that could be easily fixed and your current dr is being a a$$.

Re: I can't take it anymore
I would speak w/ another doctor too. Missed periods may be a sign of something else. Have you spoken about PCOS syndrome?
pcos
Check out the symptoms. I'm sorry if you have already spoken about this. 6 months is crazy when you know you aren't ovulating or getting a regular period...

Re: I can't take it anymore
First off,
Now...I would def go to another MD. If you didn't O 2 months in a row, that means that your body had the chance to O from both ovaries and didn't. Screw waiting the 6 months. You know your body. You feel like there is an issue and it shouldn't be put off anymore.
God forbid you had some other medical issue, with symptoms, and you went to your MD and the MD told you to wait 6 months to see what happens. You'd be out their door and on the phone with another MD in a minute. Why should this be any differnt? You shouldn't have to PROVE anything to her. You are her patient and she should listen to your concerns and look at your very real symptoms and do something now...not in 6 months!
Can you make an appt with an RE? Would your ins cover that?
ETA: Also, this is clearly, and rightfully so, causing you a lot of stress, which isn't going to help anything, so I wouldn't put off the switch or contacting an RE

Re: I can't take it anymore
Find another doctor, asap. Someone who is going to be more aggressive.
Don't waste your time, just b/c your doctor won't see you now.

Re: I can't take it anymore
Thanks so much ladies!
I just looked up other ob/gyns that are available under my insurance and Dr. B is listed as one of them. However, I have to call and see if I am covered for an RE also.
Apparently, he has an office in Bayside which would be great, if that's the case since I am in Queens. I know a lot of you girls rave about him and I am excited to see if I can make him my gyn. Then, I figure, if anything more needs to be done, if there is actually something going on where I would need to be under the care of an RE, I already am working with him.
Thanks again ladies!!!

Re: I can't take it anymore
Definitely switch to a new doctor. You know I was Oing on CD 28 or 30. With Metformin and 100mg Clomid, I'm supposed to O this weekend, around CD14. There ARE things that can help regulate your cycle and you should have to wait so long to get access to them.
Good luck!!

Re: I can't take it anymore
I had similar issues with my doc. I was thoroughly sick of being told that everything's fine when everything might not be. (Not sure if I O'd this cycle, weird spotting). I made an apt with an RE, and actually *gasp* might get some answers!

Re: I can't take it anymore
That is ridiculous. You have irregular cycles, that in itself is justification for further testing. Find another doctor, fast!
Many hugs to you, i can't imagine how frustrated you must be!

Re: I can't take it anymore
My honest advice............you're wasting your time with a gyn. They don't have a clue to be honest when it comes to fertility issues. I would get to an RE..........fast!! They will be able to figure out what is going on and how to rectify the problem asap. There is NO reason you need to wait months and months. For me, I knew something was up and I could careless whether I was TTC for 1 month or 18.........I wanted to see a specialist. Best thing I ever did. Feel better!!

Re: I can't take it anymore
So I called Dr B's office and apparently he is only working as an RE at this point not an ob/gyn which means I would have to get my current gyn to give me a referral in order for me to be able to go. Also, he does not have an office in Bayside anymore, even though it is listed on his website. His office is a bit far for me, but if I am able to get the referral I am going to go, after all the great things I hear about him on this board.

Dr.B is great!! But, are you sure you would need a referral? I had similar issues with my gyn because he wouldn't take me seriously and outright REFUSED to listen to my concerns. I had even been charting and he didn't even want to LOOK at it until I had been trying for longer! So.... I took matters into my own hands and currently seeing Dr.B for my 2nd medicated IUI cycle. Going to him was like leaving one universe and entering another..... he is AMAZING! Definitely worth the commute!!
