I googled "How to make a baby?"
I googled "How to make a baby?" last night. It seems like we don't know what we're doing. All this time, I've been trying NOT to get pregnant, never thought it'd be this complicated to conceive? We did just start trying, but I thought that was all it took - some hanky-panky and bam! Pregnant! But nah, not yet. Not so fast, said the spermie to the egg. It's been three months and I'm beginning to panic.
My stats:
34 years old overweight, actually obese according to some websites (200/5'7") love to drink beer, wine & coffee tried opk dollar tree style that never gave me a positive reading i don't get EWCM, so I'm not sure when I ovulate
Things I know i should be doing: No caffeine NO alcohol more bikram yoga More BD, apparently we're not doing it enough (every other day during O) and then once a week all other times
What we'll try this month: Pre-conceive Digital OPK all the tings i know i s/b doing
Anything else? What is this barrilla thing i keep reading about too?

You don't need to cut out caffeine completely. How much are you drinking per day?
How much alcohol do you drink on a weekly basis?
Get some other OPKs. I peronsally liked the CBE digitals (expensive though) but people have had luck with other line tests (just not the Answer brand). You can BD every other day starting on CD 8, and then once you get your +OPK, BD that night and the next 3 nights. That's your best bet. And if that doesn't work after six months.. you can try to seek help.
Search on here for Barilla - there are a ton of threads about it. No scientific proof that it has any connection to TTC or BFPs... but it is good for you (just in general).

Re: I googled "How to make a baby?"
thanks m.
i drink waay too much. since i got laid off, i find myself drinking up to 5 cups in one day, but usually around 2-4.
and drinks, well, i love wine, so 4 glasses in one night is the most. i try to keep it to 2-3 glasses with dinner.
i need to cut back a lot, i realize.
i didnt want the cafe withdrawal headache so i just had one cup of java just now.
but the vino, i might have a glass tonight with dinner, but i feel like i shouldn't risk it at all.

In fairness, I'm a drinker too. I have atleast one cup of coffee, sometimes two a day. And I love my wine. I probably drink as much as you do. Here's my thoughts on the matter, you never know how long it will take to get pregnant, so why stop enjoying life while you're trying. I did the same while TTC my DS and then I just cut myself to one cup of coffee and cut out the alcohol once I got my BFP. And to be honest, I know I may get flamed, but I also had the occasional glass of wine while pregnant and I didn't feel bad about it.

I lurk on the pregnancy board and they had this whole thread about confessions and a whole bunch of people drank some wine and had some soda's and stuff. I personally think our parents and their parents made it through oh before all the"rules" of being pregnant. I mean people used to smoke and drink while pregnant all the time! lol Every time I tell my mom what you can and can't do...she laughs and me and can't believe it.

I love coffee but when I was PG with DS I got use to drinking 1/2 decaf 1/2 regular so I stuck with it. I also LOVE wine, but don't drink as much as I use to mainly b/c my son gets up really early. I also have a pint of Stella after every work shift (i waitress at night) No flames here, I had wine and diet soda and cold cuts!!!! GASP!!! when PG with DS i'd have the occassional glass of wine, i didn't see anything wrong with and even my dr said it wouldn't hurt. Now that being said more often than not i'd poor myself the glass of wine and it'd sit on the table until DH drank it lol. I'm an occassional smoker too and I did not stop anything while TTC, but none of my vices were excessive either......if they were i'd probably have toned it down a bit, but I agree you can't stop living b/c you are TTC.
Be healthy, but don't stop living.

Re: I googled "How to make a baby?"
honestly, the only thing about your post that concerned me was that you weren't sure when you were ovulating. i think the suggestion about using digital OPKs for this month is a great idea. no questioning lines. i would go from there. good luck!

mostly to get the blood flowing in places that might be, for lack of a better word, stagnant. especially the reproductive organs. and positions which promote fertility. there's also fertility yoga, but i have not found a studio close by that offers it.
it's also great for strength. prepare the body for the big load.

Honestly, I was going to post something similar. DH and I decided to start TTC within the next few months and I have the same worries. I always thought just coming off BC and alot of BD'ing and that would be all we need. Now, that I read through these boards, Im beginning to worry if Im even ovulating. (I was on BC for 8 years or so just came off Nov 2008) Im 26, in good shape, dont drink alot of caffiene/alcohol. Im just so worried now that there could be complications that I hadnt anticipated
