The CBEFM is a monitor with a much more hefty pricetag. It detects changes in both LH and estrogen - which give you a more detailed reading of your fertility status: low, high, peak. It's also used with FMU.
Regular OPKs can either be line tests or digitals. The line tests detect LH and you need to see that the test line is darker than the control line to consider yourself as having a +OPK (LH surge). The digital tests also detect LH and you will get a smiley face when you are having a +OPK (LH surge).

Most people O on the second peak day.
I can bump a thread about the CBEFM if you do end up getting it.
You might want to try ebay - people usually have some luck with getting better prices on there.
