I have to say that this co-worker is obvious VERY jealous of you. Otherwise, she would not try to make you feel like that.
What goes around comes around, and I don't mean anything harmful to her, I just mean that the way she treated you ...some day will come back to her.
It is good that you didn't say anything nasty back to her b/c you don't sound like that kind of person and why stoop to her low level...you are a better person than her.
I agree, she is not a friend. I would not tell her anything anymore and You should tell her how she hurt you...if you do want to remain friends....
I am so sorry that she said something like that to you b/c I can't even imagine how upsetting and hurtful that is, but again I believe she is very jealous of you...who knows, maybe your marriage? your Position at work...etc...

Some people are just plain stupid. I understand if someone didn't realize what they said was taken as an insensitive comment... like some friend saying an offhand comment and not realizing how it sounded... but this woman was down right nasty. I'd nix her out of my life ASAP.
