Begging!!
Casey is SO bad. I have to admit it's probably partially our fault bc we do sometimes give her table food. We are trying to get better if we do give her any scraps to put them in her bowl. We try spraying her with the water bottle but she's so bad she will literally come up to our plates and try to steal food!
HELP!

I'd take drastic action. Tie her to a place you want her to spend your meals. Maybe within view, but not close to the table. Then repeat "spot" when she's sitting there and reward her with treats and verbal praise.
Eventually, you should be able to tell her "spot" even when she's not leashed to have her go there. And then gradually stop the treats.
We pretty much take this approach to all our training. Repeat the word while they're doing the action, reward them when the action is done, reinforce it, and then remove the food treat and only give verbal praise.

I wish I had some answers- but I am just as bad. I am the only person on the planet who has created a CAT who BEGS food like a dog.
It's very sad... and totally my own fault!

It's even funnier to witness... she sits and stares at me whenever I'm eating anything...and gets that look on her face like- why can't I have some?

We taught our dog that when we eat at the table, he is to go lie down on his bed.
He is never fed from the table.
He gets table scraps often, but they will be at the end of the meal and always in his bowl. Leaves him no reason to stalk the table.
I'm really thankful we did this. When we have company, holidays it's never an issue.
i agree with greenfreak's approach. You have to stop it right away & no more scraps from the table.

oh and BTW I have a cat that begs too  So I've got a dog practically stealing food off my plate and a cat giving me the googly eyes and the paw for food....
