Will we be ridiculous?
So DH and I are set with the name Jack as a first name after my grandmother that passed away. However, we were talking yesterday and we were going to name the middle name Jaime after his father that passed away. Apparently now, he is not set on that. So we were talking and to the two of us...the one that we like the most is Jack Daniel. Do you think people will laugh at our name choice? Other names in the running are Jack Phillip and Jack Riley. Our last name begins with an E. What do you think about Jack Daniel. We like initials and like JR, JJ and JP the most. Anyone have any other suggestions if you don't like ours? We are just nuts!

I don't see anything wrong with Jack Daniel if that's what you want. I have friends who named their son Jackson Daniel, no biggie. I say whichever you love most, go for it!

I am an advocate for going with what you want as a couple, however, be prepared to constantly hear people bring up comments about the chosen name. You need to ask yourselves if that is something you and DH can comfortably live, as well as will DS be able to live with the name as he gets older.

I don't know if he will be able to live with the name. Dh said he will be but he also wanted to name our child Aristotle and had no problem wtih it! I am just not sure!

I wouldn't say you are ridiculous- you like what you like. However, people will DEFINITELY comment on the Jack Daniel/Jack Daniels similarity and ask if there was a reason for it.
I really like Jack Riley.

I agree the name is your choice and it shouldn't matter what others think - people will have something to say regardless. You also never know, maybe he will LOVE seeing his name everywhere; my sister is Virginia and her nickname is Ginger. She has a 'ginger' themed kitchen collecting all kinds of foods/spices that say Ginger on it. She gets a real kick out of seeing her name everywhere 
I also really like Jack Riley
Another option, my brother is John Daniel - Jack is a common nickname for John, so that may be a way around it.

There's nothing wrong with it. We were going to name our child Jack and our last name rhymes with it. (Think Jack Black). I didn't care!
But I really like Jack Riley!

I also got Julio Cesear as a choice from him along with other things. He only likes Riley b/c of Pat Riley too!

yeah, people will joke about that name combo for sure... but it is a nice name, despite the booze.
It's just something for you to consider.... I should add that I also like your alternate middle names.....

No not ridiculous at all.
I rarely use first name & middle names together. If you're going to refer to him as Jack Daniel on a regular basis, then yes, I'd think of Jack Daniel (the drink). When most people use their middle name it's with their last name
"Jack Daniel Smith". The only time I've used my first & middle name together only was on my wedding invite.

I see nothing wrong it at all. My DD name is Grace Kelly M******(no relation at ALL to the actress) and we did get flak about it. But not my problem- I really didn't care what others thought. The name went beautifully with our last name and had a special significance.
But I do love Jack Riley!

I don't think it's ridiclous at all, mainly because my brother is also Jack Daniel. Jack after my grandfather and Daniel after our dad. I'm not going to say it didn't raise a few eyebrows or make people laugh every now and then but no one has said that it was insane. Go for what you like!

I don't think it is ridiculous, but you will definitely get some comments. He will probably think it is cool when he is a teenager/adult though.
