Does your dog have a "bedtime"?

My puggle wakes up every morning at 6:00 am on the nose and will get up at 8:55 pm from whatever he is doing and go into bed. It's hysterical! Chat Icon

Oh that is too funny!

Our dogs go to bed with us. Usually they are up before me though.

Usually when DH &/or I go to bed, he knows its time and up he goes onto the bed! Sometimes when he is really tired he beats us in there and claims his spot. Chat Icon

How much do you love that??? I cant imagine life with my little girl snuggling up in my arms all night long.. We are all over eachother!!! her bed time is usually 10pm!! But she hates to wake up .. I try to say goodmorning to her and she shuts her eyes really tight and pretends she is sleeping!! What a perfect way to start my day!!! I LOVE HER!!!!

Well I loved it before he was 112 pounds!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon
We have a Queen sized bed and unless he lies in between us verically, I have a horrible nights sleep! When he turns and lies horizontally with his head across my back or legs, or lies all sprawled out, we are doomed for the night! LOL
Yet, when we go to bed and he is asleep in the living room, what do we do? "Come on Brody! Bedtime!" Its our own fault! LOL
He was so cute as a puppy he wou;ld crawl up and sleep with his neck across my neck. Now if he tries it he will asphyxiate me.

Brutus comes to bed with us ( usually around 10PM during the week ) and will whine until we let him in between us.

This is going to sound really strange but I swear it is true. All week DH takes him to work, so he just calls and Brutus will jump out of bed and run down the stairs to go. *BUT* if it is on a weekend, Brutus will lift his head, see that I am still in bed and he REFUSES to get up! It is like he KNOWS that he can sleep longer bc I don't have work!

Barney usually always goes to bed when we go to bed...around 10pm. He wakes up at 5 when my husband gets up to get ready for work and when he leaves Barney goes back to bed with me. Not sure when he wakes up because when I leave at 6:15a, he is still sleeping!

Re: Does your dog have a "bedtime"?

Our dogs come up to bed withus when we come up to bed. But if we are up later, like on the weekend, my baby girl gets antsy and keeps looking up the stairs to let us know she wants to go up to bed. I love it!

Re: Does your dog have a "bedtime"?

He passes out on the couch around 9-10 but its not a deep sleep - he'll jump at any time.

Then he goes to bed with me, and then when DH gets home in the AM he goes and sleeps with him again!

Bullys sleep alot!

He knows exactly when it is meal time. Bed time can be more vague.

She waits for us to go to bed...she is the best alarm clock though...if we aren't up by 6 a.m., she is right there licking me and poking me to get up.

we are very lucky - Murray has really adjusted to our schedule. He comes in the bedroom when we go to bed and will stay quiet the whole night until one of us wakes up

eta - murray isnt allowed on the bed so he usually sleeps in his bed on the floor or in his cage where its cooler if he wants.

Re: Does your dog have a "bedtime"?

When the alarm goes off in the morning he thinks the alarm is for him and will get up. If no alarm goes off he usually wakes DH up between 7am - 8am.

At night whenever we say "time for bed" he'll follow us to bed.

Re: Does your dog have a "bedtime"?

peanut sleeps most of the day. at night i usually go to to bed earlier, so he sleeps on the couch with dh. then dh comes to bed between 11 and 2 and he brings peanut with him. if dh goes toward the bedroom door, peanut is his shadow. in the morning i leave earlier than dh, so peanut wakes up and then goes back to sleep since dh is still there. dh left before me this morning and had no clue what was going on. he couldn't fall back asleep he was waiting for dh to come back to bed.
