Do you think its tacky to register for Viacord?
i mean people are registering for honeymoons these days! I'm sure some of the old timers might think its tacky but what do you think??

I wouldn't do it. For me, it's a personal choice that I would never involve others in. But I am very private about some things.

I agree in that if you register for it you should be prepared for some flack. Many people are not on board with this, and some may even find the process unnerving or unnatural. 
ETA: I do not think it is TACKY, just touchy

Honestly, I see no reason not to. If it's something you want to do but could use some help with, then I don't see why friends and family wouldn't want to help. OR, alternatively, ask a close family member to let some of it be there gift (my Dad paid for most of ours as his baby gift to us).
Obviously, there are differing opinions on this, but someone who sees it as a must-do would be happy to contribute to it.
As someone who is 100% for banking cord blood, if a friend register for this, that would def. be where I put my $$ for her baby gift.
I should say I did honey-money when I had a bridal shower so I guess to some I'm tacky  but you know how your family is - mine was happy to do this and it helped get us to Fiji instead of having a bunch of dishes we didn't need

I don't really see it as tacky, but I wouldn't register for it. I think you can raise the issue with close family members and they might offer to help out. But, when most people buy presents from a registry, probably for a shower, I think they enjoy buying something fun or cute, and like having it opened at the shower where people ooh and ahh, and you can't get them from a Viacord gift. I kinda feel the same way about registering for honeymoons.
